Very noisy
1950gerryon 20/07/2017 21:26I first of all have to say that the LaQuinta in Joplin was very nice. The only problem that I had was that my room was right by the exit door. All night long people kept going through the door and is slammed very loudly. This went on all night. Each time it would slam my dog would bark. This went on all night. My suggestion would be to have a self closing door.
Great Room on Pricey Side
MJ Lon 20/07/2017 05:22Stayed during baseball tournament so the room was definitely higher than probably other times. That being said, really nice room, tv's etc., comfortable beds, easy check in! Breakfast was very fresh, real eggs, fruit, pancakes & waffles. Restaraunt connected to hotel is very convenient!
Best breakfast of my last few La Quintas, nice pools
Laurie Won 13/07/2017 21:47It must be an older hotel, it was musty, but not terrible, which stopped my giving it 5 stars. The hall carpet needs to be replaced, but for what we needed, it was a good value. We got a great dinner recommendation from the front desk, there is an on site sports bar that wasn't what we were looking for and the front desk was quite helpful in recommending a restaurant a few miles away that was just what we wanted. Before dinner we had a nice dip in the outdoor pool. The indoor pool looked nice too but we preferred the outdoor pool as it was quieter and quite refreshing. The breakfast was great, hot and fresh with some choices that we haven't had at other La Quinta hotels such as a selection of toppings on the always good waffles, and choices of scrambled eggs. There was so much food at breakfast that we had to be careful not to overeat.
Convenient location, good service, good amenities
LG1837on 10/07/2017 23:48This is a large LQ property that also has an Old Chicago Pizzeria as part of the same building. For a convenient evening, they'll deliver your order to your room! The jewel of the property is their breakfast room. I've never seen such a spacious breakfast area. It's recently renovated, so it's in great condition with a large flat-screen TV at one end. Each booth has it's own smaller flat-screen TV as well. The variety of breakfast offerings was quite extensive for a mid-range hotel! Fresh scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausages, sausage gravy, a pancake machine and waffle machines are out every day, not just for weekend brunch.
There are two pools, an outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool. Some areas of the building still need some renovation (hallway carpets are visibly dirty) but the goods outweigh the bads by a lot. Employees were all friendly and professional!
We stayed for 5 nights and would definitely stay here again.

Bunnydogon 09/07/2017 18:13We have been staying at this hotel for many years when we travel to Missouri to see family. It seems they have been "remodeling" this hotel for many years as well. They have completed a nice lobby and breakfast area. In the past during this remodeling period, there were things like old chairs or damaged walls. I didn't have any problem with this, as the property was generally clean and comfortable.
However, there were significant problems with our stay this time. First, there was a significant black mold build-up in our bath tub. This is not something that happened over night. The housekeeping staff has to have seen this daily for a long time and done nothing about it. I did not even want to take a shower or give our six year old granddaughter a bath. This is totally unacceptable.
Second, the carpets in the hotel hallways are absolutely filthy. When I mentioned this at the front desk, I was told they were to be replaced at the end of the year. Six months from now! How about having them cleaned in the meantime rather than asking guests to endure them? It gives an impression of uncleanliness about the whole facility. If they are willing to accept this, who knows what else is going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of.
Very minor issue is that there was not even one hanger in our closet area.
We were given a discount on our stay, but this does not make up for the mold or filthy carpets.
Will be staying elsewhere in the future.
