The hotel itself was clean. The interior interesting, outdated and a little shocking ;)
If you are into flowerpatterns, it's your place to be. 4 different flowerpatterns in 1 room... beat that.. ;)

The bathroom and shower was made from plastic and appeared a little strange.

The dinner (deer) was super delicious. The best deerragout I ever had. I can really recommend the food.

For breakfast you get different bread, salami, ham, one kind of cheese, marmelade and cornflakes. Plus a croissant each. Juice and coffee/tea is included.

The hotel is located near hiking trails. The surrounding is a little... dead. But you should visit Vresse or Bohan, there you can find life.

Beautiful building . Nice people. Little outdated but very clean. Good breakfast.Nice dinner (3 course€15/ 4 course €25 and the main course has a free refill!)
lots to do in the area.
small rooms but totally in style with the forests surrounding the hotel. 50 sorts of Belgian beer. Good hideout for a long weekend.

No renovations since the 70's

From the outside this place is really impressive - like a small castle, wonderful! From the inside... I think nothing has been renovated since the 70's. I mean nothing, not even curtains or bedsheets (not to mention the furniture). The food in the restaurant was not to my taste, the wine drinkable. The service is slow and not professional (acutally bringing one drink at a time...) Be careful with your orders (we ended up paying three epensive water bottles, althought we got only two).

A real Ardennes Hotel with charming nonchalance

We booked a room for three days in La Sapinière , half pension and loved every minute of it. Sure, the bedlinen isn't matching the beds , but it is clean and smells nice - the room is furnished with solid but squeaky oak , but it gives a marvelous view on nature outside and they're isn't a sound except for the birds singing... It reminded me of lots of Ardennes holidays of many years back.
This hotel really has an authentic 'Ardennes' feeling : it is cosy , has a nice restaurant and a great terrace. The style has a typical nonchalance to it that you won't find in a more sophisticated hotel but that is part of the charm : like when the lady of the house comes up to you to ask what you want to drink with your dinner and gives you an update on the menu, all this with a baby on her arms ... This is a charming hotel where you will perfectly feel at ease with your children and/or your dog.
You can start a nice promenade through the woods just outside the hotel or you can descent to Vresse, which is just across the bridge at the end of the street and start one of the many walks along the Semois. Laforet and Vresse are worth exploring : they have nice brasseries and Vresse has a very interesting Art Gallery with regular expositions .
Take a trip across the border and visit Sedan, or go further up to visit Namur which is great for eating and shopping. And... there is free wifi in the bar

impossible to give a good review. The room is very small and smell. The beds were no good. Very ols sheets. A very small television. Tapis-plain on the floor andin the corner.
The people who works there try to be friendly
