Love to take the walk up to Chief War Eagle grave. So much history. Overlooks the South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa states. The sight also affords a view of the Big Sioux River merging into the Missouri River.

We did not go on any of the trails but it appears to have a few that would be worth hiking. The view from the statue is wonderful.

Nice drive up to the monument area and then a short hike up to the monument. Good view of the area from the top.

He is buried on the top of a bluff overlooking the Missouri River. War Eagle was a believer in peace and working together. You can see three states from the bluffs.

This was a very interesting piece of local history. A quiet peaceful place that doesn't take long to visit not much of a hike but a very nice wide paved sidewalk. The only slightly disappointing part is the 10-foot fall tall chain link fence put there for safety reasons. It doesn't block your view only inhibits camera pictures of the river valley. A quick visit with interesting local lore.
