What People are saying

Great hosts. Horrible rooms

staceymandyon 14/08/2016 20:34

The hosts were delightful and I was especially fond of the older man even though we could not understand eachother. His son could speak English and that helped us. Breakfast was nice enough, consisting of pastry only, no fruit or cereal etc. I did not mind that, but others might . Coffee was great. The view from the terrace was stunning.
The rooms however were another story.
There were 3 of us squashed into a tiny room. In order to open the cupboard we had to push all the beds together so my 18 year old daughter had to climb over us to get into her bed. We could not fit our suitcases into the room so they lived under the bed and we had to pull them out and onto the bed each time we needed anything. That was not great but we dealt fine with it what we really struggled with was the fact that the window opened onto a concrete wall. We could not sleep with the door open as the manager slept just across the way with only a plastic folding door separating us so we could hear every movement. So no window with fresh air, closed door, no aircon and squashed into a tiny room in the heart of summer  equalled 3 very claustrophobic, hot people and very little sleep . My parents room was big enough for 2 people maybe 3 at a push however they crammed another 2 beds in it for my other 2 kids. So same suitcase problem, but at least the window opened to the outside. Thankfully the rooms were clean.  The stairs are steep and there are many to climb down with suitcases, we are fairly fit so managed fine but it's good to know ahead of time. We all strongly felt that they were charging us a 7 people rate and squashing us into rooms that really should only of accommodated 4 people in total. For that we reason we felt it really was not value for money.

This B&B is located up the mountain, with a stunning view over the Amalfi Coast. We chose a bedroom with a shared bathroom, and it had been organized conveniently. The bedroom itself was very small and quite crowded (a third bed was also there, which of course took a lot of place) and the bathroom would not mind a little renovation work, but the place was clean and well kept.
The breakfast was rather small, the coffee very good.
The personnel was kind and welcoming: we forgot a computer in the room when we left and they sent it to us very quickly to our next location.
I would recommend it to other travelers as well.

Adorable B&B for a great price

This place is incredible! The view is gorgeous and the hospitality is wonderful! The location is great too, as it is located between some of the main cities along the amalfi coast. The staff is so sweet! The women who checked us in speaks English and she and her daughter are adorable together. There are several options for cheap, delicious Italian food and a small super market within walking distance from the B&B. Breakfast is either brought to you in bed or you can choose to eat it on a beautiful terrace that overlooks the sea. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with newly renovated bathrooms. Transportation to the city of amalfi is very easy. There is a bus stop located right outside of the B&B. I definitely recommend this place!

Great location if you have your own car and quirky, friendly management, but difficult to get to on public transport

Carperdiemon 05/01/2014 19:55

Perched on the side of a cliff with outstanding panoramic views of Amalfi coast. The owner is a cute, very friendly old man (Mr Vincenzo) who loves to talk with guests but can't speak a word of English and we can't speak a word of Italian, so communication was difficult (but fun trying). His adult son Biajo speaks pretty good English, but was not around much. Nice people, but seem a bit disorganized (apart from breakfast). Rooms are nothing special and sharing a bathroom with strangers was not appealing for the price, but location in Furore is outstanding. Next to bus stop and shops and had a great view of the coast from the dining area which we were welcome to sit in anytime. Breakfast was better than most (home made croissants - yum) and hosts were very welcoming. Very difficult to get to without your own car (so you have to build in the cost of private transport - the B&B seemed incapable of providing quality information on how to get their via buses and trains but offers a shuttle service for 70 euros from Naples), as there seems to be a lack of information about bus schedules, and from Naples you need to take one train and two buses (without information about the times). You also need to be able to walk up and down very steep stairs at the B&B and throughout Furore. Great, cheap pizza directly across the road and supermarket 50m down the street. Bus goes past the front door to Amalfi (or Agerola other direction).
