What People are saying

Great stay and perfect staff

I have stayed in Lago Gutierrez Lodge several days in a row. I have spend a lot of time at the lodge to read, rest and enjoy the landscape.

The owners Maria and Jorge are really nice people. Jorge has made some excellent dinners in the evening and he is really fun to talk with. Maria knows a lot about the area and is always open to help with suggestions.

Some of the rooms are a bit smaller and some are a bit bigger. It all depends on what you need. But the best thing is to be outside. The lodge has a really nice garden where, in summer, you can read a book. Or when its really warm you can even go swimming if you want.

The breakfast is simple but it has all you need (in my case mostly coffee). You might struggle a bit with the showers to get the right temperature. But once you have discovered how it works its just fine.

Other people of the staff Patricia and Flor are also really nice. They are always there to help you when they are at the lodge.

Thank you for having me!

Best. Staff. Ever.

We didn't actually stay in this hotel. We were on our way to a different hotel, but either got on a wrong bus or got dropped off at the wrong spot. After walking in the woods in the dark in the rain for quite some time, we found this gem and asked the staff for help.

They were SO incredibly helpful and welcoming, something that we will never forget.

After sitting down in the cute little common room, we talked about how we would've loved to stay at this place. So quiet and peaceful in the woods - great location for relaxing. The place is so clean and inviting.

Cozy

Fabulously located and clean and neat. Runned by Maria and Jorge who enjoy cooking so we enjoy home made breakfast and superb dinner plates at night. We had a good time staying 5 days, but we would stay longer . Bariloche in summer is very very recomendable, and the Lodge also.
Regards.

A perfect stay - just what we needed!

The value for money here is incredible: you get a blissful sanctuary right on the prettiest lake in the area (in my humble opinion) and a delicious breakfast. The medialunas, home-made jams and cakes are so much better than any other hosteria/hostel we have visited so far in Argentina). To top it off, Jorge and his wife are so lovely and attentive; they let us use their barbacoa one sunny afternoon and with a little (actually, a lot) of help from Jorge we smoked some gorgeous chicken thighs. It's a little far to the nearest supermarket (2km) but it's well stocked and a beautiful walk. There aren't many restaurants nearby so having a car might be a good option if you don't want to eat at the lodge every night. That being said, a gourmet restaurant called Cassis is about 1km down the road and is in our top 3 favourite meals of our lives, at maybe half the price of its equivalents in London (think Nobu quality and attention to detail for £75 per head, wine included). In terms of hiking, don't miss the 6 hour walk to and from Playa Nuñoz (starts at campsite on opposite side of lake) - a stunning walk and not very difficult for budding hikers like us. Altogether, a comfortable and peaceful stay for a great price. Don't expect luxury, but do expect to feel at home.

Great value hotel in stunning location

We stayed here 9 days over Xmas and new year and loved it. The private lakeside location is perfect for a relaxing stay and perfect to return to after exploring/sighting. Our room was small but comfortable with a decent shower. The public areas were inviting. The occasional evening meals we had were very good. The managers were friendly and could not have been more helpful. They made Xmas/new year a family affair and the celebration meals a real treat. You can swim from the beach but be warned its cold.
It is accessible by the regular bus service from Bariloche and if you like peaceful, is well worth staying here.
The only problem we had was the room cleaning. The cleaner had to be asked to do it properly.
