Beautiful part of France
Jonnybrown529on 21/08/2016 17:01Stayed here for a week in July. Can't say enough great things about this complex. Very relaxed and all the amenities one needs. Fantastic for day trips to Cannes, Saint Raphael, Monaco etc. Close to restaurants, supermarkets and the beautiful village of Montauroux. Very friendly receptionist who had lots of local knowledge. Would recommend this to anyone who needs a chill out holiday in the South of France. I will definitely be back again to this complex.
It's going downhill
Sarah Ton 05/08/2016 16:03I first reviewed this residence in 2012 and in the interest of full disclosure I should say upfront that I own a property on the site.
Lagrange administer the site and they are not keeping up to their end of the bargain. The place badly needs a coat of paint, there are broken tiles around the swimming pool, the public areas are not clean and our much loved receptionist Olivia (who could not do enough for you) has been replaced. The crockery and hangers are missing/damaged and the lack of air-conditioning in the bedrooms remains an issue.
The main problem though is the WIFI. It is impossible in this day and age for the WIFI to be so poor. A family connection (3 devices) now costs €37. This isn't really enough for us as there are 4 people with laptops/iPhones/iPads not to mention guests so we paid twice. And received NO internet, and no refund even though Lagrange acknowledged the Internet wasn't working because the site was full.
There is a McDonalds nearby with WIFI but still, it's unacceptable to pay for non-existent WIFI.
Montauroux is however as lovely as ever and not even Lagrange can spoil that.
The location is fine for short visits to the Cote D Azure. No more.
JacquesLeblancon 24/08/2013 23:20The houses are very small. BBQ is not allowed unless you rent their equipment for 8 euros per day. Deckchairs also to be rented. WIFI is 7 euros per day. Dogpoo all over the place... Service is poor and the resort has no atmosphere whatsoever.
A wonderful place to stay
Sarah Ton 12/08/2012 00:21The great thing about this residence is its size. It's small. You do not have to stay cheek-by-jowl with other people. The house was very well thought through and the staff enormously helpful. The pool is small and gets crowded towards the end of the day. But that's fine because there is so much to see and do in the area!
There's a fabulous lake nearby for sailing and pedalos and kayaks, there's riding, cycling and walking available. Lots of tennis courts and all at very low cost. There are village markets and lovely painters studios, vineyards to visit too. There are museums and lots of other attractions. It's a 30 minute drive from the coast - the lovely Corniche D'Or. Or visit Cannes or Nice, all less than an hour away. The food is fabulous - there is a restaurant with a Michelin Star a 10 minute walk away from the Residence and lots of other places to eat around the villages.
There are only two minor complaints I have about this residence. The first is the WIFI - it's expensive at 20 Euros a week per computer (there were five of us all with laptops, so go figure the cost) and also it is only available in the reception area. So you have to trek your laptop into the reception to catch up. It'd be a simple matter to make the whole site open to WIFI and to charge less for it - a huge proportion of hotels and residences now make no charge at all for WIFI. The second improvement I would make would be to install a couple of airconditioning units upstairs in the bedrooms of the house. The airconditioning units in the property are great but they are only downstairs and hot bedrooms can make for uncomfortable nights.
Otherwise though, the place is absolutely great :) Enjoy!!
very good
Lieven Don 18/07/2012 13:23we had a very good stay @ les bastides des chaumettes. The manager is a very friendly lady who is flexibel and willing to advice. A very nice and clean swimming pool. The houses are comfortable
