Don't expect too much here...

There are some positives, which I'll come to later. But let's start with the negatives. No free WiFi. No bath soap. No toiletries at all. No dishwasher detergent. No liquid dish detergent. No paper towels. A 35-euro fee for "cleaning" when you check out, but you're supposed to carry out all your garbage to a place on the street. No charm in the apartment -- just two pictures, one in the bedroom, one in the living area. On the plus side, the location is reasonably good (although with almost no views of anything, other than other buildings). Our apartment was spacious, and there's lots of room for storage (shelves, cupboards and so on). Would we go back? Definitely not.

Great Location, helpful staff.

Located in the heart of Biarritz, these apartments are ideally situated for the beech, shopping and restaurants. The local shops in St Charles area are convenient for self-catering offering bakeries, butchers and greengrocers. Our apartment was well equipped and the aircon was particularly useful. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Note that there is a charge to change towels and sheets even if your stay is longer than a week. Parking in Biarritz appears to be at a premium in peak season, so I would recommend booking a place in the underground car park.

Poor choice, Poor Information, Poor Experience

UGH! Perhaps we did not know enough about what a Residence Hotel offered, but...No toiletries, one roll of toilet paper, no soap, no view, WiFi at a cost of five dollars a day and a charge for having the place cleaned after renting? It was terribly expensive for what we got in return. The room faced a blank wall (the only window/sliding door), and the halls were a maze of confusion and darkness (motion lights were slow). We were looking for a place with two beds and a little space but what we got was ridiculously tiny. In the room with two (single) beds, you could not open the door fully. Perhaps if we had understood that it was a "bring all of your own supplies including soap and toilet paper" we would not have been so shocked. As it was, we were very depressed and disappointed in the entire experience. It definitely tainted the Biarritz experience. I would never recommend this place to a traveler who is expecting a hotel. I wish we could have gotten out of the reservation, but it was not an option. Most unfortunately we had to add an extra night and pay for it upfront.....It was just all a mistake in choosing. Buyer Beware.

Great Location

Location great and close to the local shops which is a god send as Biarritz is very expensive. The accomodation is very basic and the kitchen good of been laid out better, also the lighting in the hallway very tempormental some times walking around in the dark. The TV no english channel which got on your nerves. One plus side it did have parking if you brought a car.

"Prestige" is probably over-stating it! 3.5 points.

Excellent location, only a short walk from the Grande Plage, main shopping streets and restaurants.

We are a family of 4 adults, and booked the largest apartment (advertised as accommodating 10 people). I can appreciate that 8 would be accommodated comfortable, but 10 is probably pushing it! Thankfully, our apartment was on the top floor, and had TWO(!) very large balconies and plenty of windows to let in light. I do agree with a previous reviewer though, who stresses that the quality of your stay will be very much affected by the apartment/room which you're allocated. Some rooms on the lower floors appeared to have very little natural light, and their balconies looked out onto a 6-8 metre-high wall!

The pool was miniscule - they somehow manage to make it look much bigger in the website photos! However, it was heated, and therefore a very nice temperature for an outdoor pool.

We paid the extra charge of €49 per week for an allocated secure underground parking space, which was accessed by a (very scary!) car lift, and was a tight fit for larger cars.

Unfortunately, there were only French TV channels available. Many of the guests were from abroad, so it would be good if the residence could widen the choice of languages available. Also, the staff at the spa don't speak any English, which makes having a treatment rather uncomfortable.

Wifi was available at an extra (extortionate) charge of €25 per week to an external provider called "Passman". For that price, I expect a very reliable high-speed connection. What we got was the exact opposite. We had to go to awkward areas of the apartment (e.g. the staircase!) in order to get any signal whatsoever, and the connection could be broken off at any time. Very poor service for a newly-built (2013) establishment.
