RV camping

The full hook ups is what sold us. You are truly taken back in time on this farm. The chickens, roosters and old tobacco barns are so neat. Gary and Shirley are sweet host who want you to be happy and comfortable. We had a little trouble getting level but Gary made sure we felt comfortable with our spot. We were with family in Wake Forest most of the weekend so we didn't sit still much.
Stay was disappointing

My wife and I stayed here with some friends for the weekend and took in a drive-in movie at the Raleigh Drive-In.
When we arrived, the first thing the owner asked for was payment. The property consists of the B&B and a small campground. On the property, there are loads of chickens and roosters running around.
Our room was small but comfortable. The house is old and has a lot of "creeks" when you walk.
We were with 4 other couple who decided to bring their RV's for the weekend; the spots they were assigned were suppose to be full service with sewage but that was not the case.
I was very disappointed for the entire visit. There was no "welcome, help yourself to the coffee or drinks..." There was nothing laid out welcoming us to the Lamplight Inn. We were suppose to have an "Old Fashion Shrimp Stir Fry" on Friday evening but it was a big disappointment and was overpriced. The meal was not served in the house but outside in a barn. The meal was not adequate to fill the stomach of travelers that had been on the road.
When my wife and I went to bed in the evening, around 11:30 pm, our room felt like a sauna... the ceiling fan blew the warm air but was no relief.
We ate breakfast, in the barn again, and left as soon as we packed.
I do not recommend the Lamplight Inn. The owner is looking to sell.
A visit to Lamplight Inn

We picked the Lamplight Inn from the NCBBI list and enjoyed our visit back in time. The house dates back to 1850 and if you removed the room's TV and ceiling fan you would think you had gone back in time. We had a good nights sleep and a wonderful breakfast that included farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed our visit with Shirley and she told us the history of the house and what she had done and still had plans for the future. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Get Shirley to tell you about Jenny while eating breakfast.

My wife and I spent the weekend at the Lamplight Inn and had a wonderful time. A nice old farmhouse run by charming people..The breakfast served both mornings was fabulous.. A perfect place to stay if you want want to relax in the country away from it all.
Don't book online! Lost reservations!

I had put in for a "room request" for a cabin in February 2015. My husband and I were getting married near by and we were going to get the Pirate Cabin Friday night for the groom and some of the groomsmen and he and I were going to stay there after our wedding on Saturday night.
When we first put in for a request, I received an email saying that they had received my request and that they would be in touch. I never heard from them. I would check their website calendar frequently to make sure the days were still available. I quickly realized that they don't update their vacancies.
Starting early April I called multiple times, leaving messages inquiring about my request status, and never received a call back. Finally got in touch with a women there who informed me that they had NOTHING open for that weekend and that she was clueless on my request. She said she thought she could shuffle some people around to get us another cabin and that she would let us know. Never heard back. Called her. She was unsure about if she could do it, said she would call back. Never called back. I called back to let her know that we were now ONE WEEK OUT from our wedding and we needed plans in stone, so for her to please let us know so we could make some sort of accommodations. Long story short, I ended up having to get an overpriced, dirty hotel room for the grooms men, and my husband and I had to scramble DAYS before our wedding to find a place to stay the night of our wedding. I emailed them the entirety of my problem, hoping to get some feedback that way, they were just defensive.
I'm not sure how this bed and breakfast in still in business if this is how they do business. I'm pretty sure you have to be a regular to get something out of this place.
IN SUMMARY: Don't trust their online calendar. Don't call. I guess you have to go in person...which is inconvenient if you are out of town. If you decide to stay with them, just stay on top of the chain of communication!
