We were greeted like long lost friends in the friendliest manner possible.
Our room wasn’t ready, so without any need to moan we were upgraded by a young woman on reception called Jin. She was delightful.
In addition we were invited to a complementary drink in the cocktail bar and were served by another delightful person called Lauren. The cocktails were beautifully served.
From the bar, to Reception to the bellboys, this is a lovely place that I would recommend highly.
Let alone the view from our room and the comfort of the hotel.

On arrival we were warmly greeted from the moment we stepped out of our taxi. Several staff members welcomed us at the door, and our bags were quickly taken. Four smiling members of staff on reception ensured that we were efficiently checked in. There was a slight delay on having our room ready, but we were quickly offered complimentary drinks by ‘Jin’ and offered an alternative room- one with a fantastic view. In the bar, Lauren made us eye catching cocktails whilst explaining that they were named after The Italian Job film, which had been filmed here. Everywhere that we went, we were greeted with a smile, and efficiency. Highly recommend!

Wow...I don't have a bad word to say about this hotel! Location wise it's a 2min walk to the tube, Hyde park is literally on the doorstep!
All of the staff we met were so professional yet really friendly! Couldn't do enough to help and nothing seemed to be a bother! It was my friends 40th birthday so when I booked with Eva, she organised balloons in the room plus a lovely cake...absolutely made our stay perfect! The birthday girl stayed in the park suite which was incredible, views in every direction! Heated toilet seat...what more could you want! Haha!
I will definitely be visiting again 😁

I attended a conference here and stayed over. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful during the entire conference and the buffet food served really was excellent.
The reception area is very elegant and the entire hotel spotless and beautifully decorated - as you would expect for a renovated hotel. It was also pleasant to have bowls of apples and water available in reception for guests. I was able to check in at about 3pm which allowed me time to check out my room and hang up my clothes for the evening dinner.
The room was small if honest, but beautifully decorated with fluffy white towels and high quality toiletries. Very surprised not to have a bath in a hotel of this standard and price (£260 B&B), the bathroom was however of a high standard, albeit small.
There was what looked like some type of mobile/telephone device allowing guests to make calls I guess using Wi-Fi or a UK mobile network if from overseas, not entirely sure as nobody explained at reception and it did not work anyway - although it did allow me to at least charge my own mobile as I had left my charger at home.
I had an excellent sleep, the bed linen was a very high quality and the shower had plentiful room and hot water.
I was one of the first guests down for breakfast, it suited me perfectly and I had stunning views of the sun and mist over the park. (My colleagues had chosen cooked breakfast some time after me and were not quite so happy). Very friendly staff, excellent choice of different breads (although the Asian lady in front of me clearly did not understand why there was a napkin draped over the fresh bread as she touched the bread with her hands to cut it - a pet hate of mine). Excellent fresh coffee which poured beautifully from a silver pot, made a difference to the normal instant tasteless coffee served at breakfast. Excellent choice of fruit and other continental pastries too. Not sure how they would cope if guests arrived on mass for breakfast, but again it suited me perfectly.
Checkout staff were lovely, friendly, always smiling and also left me with a smile for my day - especially when I was given a little pack of cellophane wrapped chocolates - what a lovely touch.
P.s. I had asked if the hotel had any mobile chargers or charging stations, they did not, but something to suggest might be of use to conference guests going forward maybe, instead of in-room mobile devices?

The Royal Lancaster is in a great position for both Hyde Park and any shopping you want to do in Oxford Street, all within easy walking distance. Lovely inside, nicely refurbished, very friendly and helpful staff. Should easily be a 5 star hotel
