Great Place to Stay

Stayed here for 5 days (was in Grenada to help our son move into St George University), Lance Aux Epines Cottages is no more than 10-15 mins, (if that much) by car to the university. The Cottages and grounds are immaculate. Clean, clean clean!! Everything you might need has been thought of - right down to a cooler to bring food to the beach (who would have thought..) even Bug spray if you forgot and you will definitely need.

As another reviewer said...this is a cottage. You will not have the amenities of a Hotel but for those who want a little piece of home...this is it.

Would definitely stay here again.

Spacious and clean, nice location

A really cute cottage, with a lot of space. The cottage is really clean and the customer service is beyond what I expected. Everyone is so nice. I loved the cleaning lady, she was so sweet. It's also walking distance to some really nice restaurant with live bands. Unfortunately the cottage doesn't have a TV, but it does have TV room with a pool table and ping pong. So yes I would recommend Lance aux epines.

Wonderful Family Getaway

This property is not for everyone. It is not a full service hotel. Rather the beachfront property has multiple cottages casually strewn about - in a good way. We went with our two early-twenty something sons and one girlfriend. We had Pelican cottage which was 2 bedroom with 2 baths. Bedrooms have AC but the main area, kitchen and bath are pleasantly open to the fresh air. There is a beach BBQ and open bar only on Saturday's. Otherwise the place is quiet and left to vacationers to relax. Maid service is daily during the week. The staff is very friendly and helpful and seem genuinely interested in guests having a good time. The front office can arrange taxis, and tours.

I only gave 3 stars to service and rooms because this is a self-service property. No room service, no restaurant or bar. There is a fully equipped kitchen and they will stock it for you on request. The 3 stars is a statement of fact, not a complaint.

Overall the week was wonderful at this property and went by far too fast. As a note my wife and I visited here 27 years ago and it felt much the same now as then.

Lance aux Epines Cottages are a wonderful throwback to the past. If you are looking for a 5-star, all inclusive resort with lots of action, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for relaxation, simple comfort, the best possible location on the beach and the friendliest management and staff you will ever find, this is the place for you. I hesitate to recommend this property so highly because it may be even more difficult than it is now to get a reservation! Guests return year after year and book on departure for the next season. We have stayed here several times now and plan to return. Just wonderful!

Relaxed but efficient

We stayed for just four nights before joining family at the Prickly Bay Marina, it couldn't have been more convenient. We were in KIte, one of the first floor apartments. The location of the cottages looked more attractive, but we had the benefit of a better view being higher up.
The resort and apartment are very spacious giving plenty of privacy. We were grateful for the very efficient air conditioning in the bedroom, I've never experienced such a quiet AC unit before.
Every Sunday the staff run a Beach BBQ & Bar from 12 noon; this was a pleasant relaxed affair and we enjoyed good food with rum punches. Every other guest we spoke to had stayed at Lance Aux Epines on several occasions, usually for three or more weeks, an indication of how homely the atmosphere was.
We hired a car at the airport, pre-booked online with Y&R Car Rentals, smooth transaction. They issued us with the necessary permit, absolutely no need to drive to a police station for it (See previous reviews). On our return, the Y&R agent was waiting outside her office for us, that's what I call service.
