Friendly staff, fresh local food, nice dinner and breakfest. Possibility to sit and eat also outside during summer. Room clean ... I had a Disney room, which was kind of funny for me, but why not, good idea for families with children. Everything OK.

Unique Hotel

While visiting my old school in Bad Ueberkingen, we stayed in this 'Landgasthof', meaning a Country Style Inn.
The place is full of ideas regarding decoration of rooms and furnishings. But whatever you expect, you might not find it here, except the hospitality is second to none. When we arrived we were greeted by one of the staff who is and spoke Italian. The reason was that we are living in Italy with an Italian Address and an Italian license plate. But I am German and speak the local dialect, Schwaebisch!
The food in the restaurant is outstanding local cuisine, the real 'Schwaebische Kueche' and of the highest quality. The staff is very! friendly and helpful.
We will be back again, if only for the food. I can't wait!!

Nice hotel in the center of the Black forest

We (2 adults + 2 children) stayed for 9 nights last August (2013). The hotel is very nice, good staff, Jane and her family are very lovely people, they tried to help and answer any question/request. The breakfast was very delicious, we also eat a dinner in a hotel restaurant, they have a good menu with salads, fish, meat and kid meals.
The hotel provides the "Black forest" card which saved us a lot of money for attractions.
I reccomend this hotel for a family vacations.

Hotel rooms full of joyful ideas

This Hotel in the outskirts of Geislingen/Steige makes you smile when passing through the hallways leading to the rooms and entering your room - even when you are in a bad mood! The rooms show parts of an old half-timbered construction and each room is individually created with lots of creativity. The service and the food of the restaurant is very good and demonstrates generosity coming from the owners. The costs to overnight (including a breakfast buffet) as well as the prices of the restaurant in this family run business are very reasonable. The location assures you a calm night.

Family run place makes you feel right at home

My friends and I stayed here for many nights while we visited friends in a nearby town. The first night we had dinner in their restaurant and it was fresh and delicious! Pork roast, fresh sauerkraut, marbled steak, huge platter of fried potatoes and noodles with butter. Our friend told us the region raises their own foods and is a farm to table area.
Apple strudel with ice cream topped off the meal. The servers dress is tradtional costumes of the Bavarian area and are kind with special attention to patrons.
The rooms and entire facility are spotless. Rooms had the typical European rounded shower and the bathroom was meduim sized. There is an elevator for lots of American luggage.The rooms had a desk, plenty of closet area and big enough to move around the room. Breakfast was buffet style but you could get cooked eggs. Breads, hearty brown breads and rolls, cheeses, meats and cereals were plentiful. The server graciously brings coffee and tea to the table with the freshest cream ever tasted.
Our friend ended up in the local hospital and we had to extend our stay and the owners were kind and made sure in our tired and worried state, we were taken care of with our rooms and dinners. and a much needed fax machine. They helped us get the bus and taxi's to the hospital and inquired about our friend often. When we left for home we were glad to finally get our friend home but we hated to leave our new friends and family home in Steinenkirch!
