Good hotel, but photos misleading
tnykon 21/08/2017 18:28Because everywhere the first photos that show up are of the castle next doors, one would expect to be lodged in the castle. Not so. Good hotel though, nice, comfortable room, good breakfast, and nice grounds to go for a walk (and at least take a picture of the castle).
This is a good hotel for 3 stars but service is hopeless.
_mapa311on 15/08/2017 10:05This is a good hotel for 3 stars, breakfast is good, restaurant is also good (food is good, not many choices). Most of personnel is kind but without much initiative. Not many public spaces within the hotel. Most of activities must happen or in the room or in a small terrace or in the ample and beautiful surroundings. The castle is nothing particular.
On a very bad note: two passports were forgotten in the safety box. The next day called to ask for assistance. It was very difficult to get assistance in first instance. "we are very busy"'. "I'm alone with another colleague". "We don't know if the new guests are in the breakfast room or out of the hotel". "Call back in 3 hours". !!! Is that the way to treat a customer? Even more, to handle a sensitive case such as the potential loss of two passports? I had to give the receptionist some ideas on how to handle the case quicker.
The passports have not been found so far. Please ask the new guests! Apparently, no solutions. We will file a police report immediately. Being in Amsterdam, it doesn't happen in two seconds!
We feel hopeless and no active and serious help is offered.
Think seriously before coming to a hotel where there is no willingness to go beyond the desk to help the customer, no initiative, no proper training.

Clean and comfortable
Coatesy11on 15/02/2017 08:04We stayed in a family room for one night. The hotel was clean, comfortable and friendly. We liked the delicious buffet breakfast, which had a huge selection of breads, cheese, ham and even scrambled eggs, bacon and beans!

The rooms were clean and spacious. The only downside of the room was the lack of airconditioning as we were there on a hot summerday.
Staff was very helpfull and breakfast was really well cared for.
Nice hotel, not if it comes down to food...
Christine Don 31/01/2016 16:43The room was excellent, clean, bright, modern, very welcoming lady at reception. We had lunch at the castle. Not the best decision: caesar salad first came with no chicken. Staff took the plate back into the kitchen. It came back with a few slices of chicken, no caesar dressing, obviously they were not expecting any guests for lunch. The kind waiter gladly offered the lunch for free. Hoping dinner would be better. To be honest, the only courses that we nice were the soup and the desert. So, not the place for a gastronomic stay. Staff all around the hotel very kind.
