Black Forest Gem!
pdclonoon 01/05/2017 22:33First of all, this small family-owned establishment is very German, not much English spoken. It's truly in the middle of nowhere. That, of course, is its very charm! The decor is warm, the beds very firm and comfortable, the rooms immaculate and we had a flower-lined balcony. The proprietors are friendly and efficient, and the food is wonderful!!! We do half board and find lunch on our own. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I've seen with anything you could want. There's a charming bird walk through the neighboring countryside and it's a short walk to the slightly larger town of Wolfach if you want more action. We were there in autumn 2016 and are returning June 2017 with kids and grands. This is a low-key experience with no glitz or glamour, but we love it and keep going back. Very relaxing and great hiking.
A good place to stay
Martin Pon 10/09/2016 15:40I stayed at Hirschen for a night on a business trip. The hotel room was big and comfortable and had a balcony, which provided the additional advantage that it was easy to let in fresh air during the night to cool the room down. A minus point was that for the shower no shampoon was available. The restaurant in the hotel is good, and this applies also to the breakfast.
Relaxing family weekend
Ewelina Pon 30/08/2016 13:18This traditional,charming and welcoming hotel is very kids friendly. The deluxe room offers comfortable bed and a lot of space. Breakfast is delicious with many local specialities.There are few restaurant rooms and a beer garden. The cuisine is hearty and very tasty. Guests can also relax in the nice garden.
This place is a treasure
gunnerHiltonHead_SCon 22/09/2015 22:01Book a room with a balcony in this idyllic country streamside hotel and enjoy wonderful service excellent food and an incredible value. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet. My. Only mistake was moving on and not using it as a Schwarzwald base!
2 night stop
Tracy Ton 28/08/2015 18:04We found this Beautiful hotel by off chance. The Lady of the hotel was just so lovely. Nothing was to much. We arrived after a very long journey on the motor bike just looking for some where to stay the night but we stayed 2 nights as the room and bathroom were so nice. The hotel is so lovely and the staff wear traditional German dress. The food was good. The breakfast was continental and there was such a wide choice. Fruit, eggs, cereal, cheese you name it , it was there and all you could eat. Our bike was very dirty and the Land Lady let us clean the bike down at the rear of the hotel. She found us places to go on the internet. I would recommend this hotel to any one. Lovely hotel Lovely Staff And a beautiful location.
