Last time we were at Langdon a few years ago, we thought service had declined. I'm glad to say that this most recent trip restored our faith in this Relais & Chateaux hotel. Since we knew the property and only had one small suitcase, we decided to park and walk up to reception, dragging our luggage, rather than stop at the front door. I had barely left the parking lot before I was met by an attendant who greeted me with a smile and took the suitcase. Reception was super fast. Our room was lovely, as was the complimentary wine cooling on the table. Our son, who booked the room for us, let them know it was my birthday and this was obviously their response. The room was quiet. The beds were comfortable. And the bathroom was great. Those wonderful big soaker tubs are one reason I love this hotel. The grounds are lovely, the house is incredible and in short, it was perfection. The dining experience was also good, both breakfast and dinner, but I have reviewed that separately.
Our stay at Langdon Hall was a great experience. We are pleased with our room located at the main bldg. very spacious and it has a fire place( wood).
The place was very peaceful, it's very relaxing. It's a great place to getaway of the busy city and just relax.
The food and wine was really good.
The massage was wonderful.
The only thing I was a bit disappointed is that our room is not ready until 4:30. We even arrive early and they told me that they will call me once it's ready. But I didn't get any call so I went over to ask if our room is ready.
But overall we had an amazing stay/ experience at LH.
We also did a hike, bike ride, and test drive the LExus RX450 sport.
I will definitely recommend this place and I will go back again.
I recently attended high tea at Langdon Hall with my 3 sisters and my Aunt. I was really disappointed with the menu. I had gone for high tea a few months ago with my daughter and it was delicious. It appears they have changed the menu substantially. The only things memorable were the scones. Will not be going back.
My husband and I stayed overnight at Langdon Hall and LOVED it. We were looking for a special birthday getaway where we could bring our dog. Check! We were given a ground floor room with a private walk-out terrace, perfect for our pooch. They even left dog treats :) The room, spa treatments, food and service were all top notch. But my favorite part of our stay was walking around the stunning gardens and wooded trails. After 24 hours we felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Definitely a splurge but so worth it. Thank you, Langdon Hall! We'll be back.
This is a beautiful spot in the countryside, but not perfection. Our so-called cloister was large but dark, down a narrow staircase, and the doors to the private patio didn't open. Dinner was an adventure at first, especially eavesdropping on the earnest conversation about the tasting menu, but after our main course, we were ignored. We sat for a while holding the dessert menu, longing for coffee, but couldn't face another hour's wait, so we quietly left. We did appreciate the handwritten note and bonbons acknowledging our wedding anniversary, and the breakfast was excellent. An interesting experience, to see how the rich live.
