Excellent location in Chamonix
TrippettFon 13/08/2017 18:22We stayed two nights in the Langley Hotel Gustavia at the end of hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc, booked by our British outfitter. It is a comfortable, centrally-located hotel that was ideal for our stay--close to the center with restaurants and to the train station. Service was swift and efficient. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of dishes and good coffee. We had the fixed-price lunch on arrival and thought it excellent. I would stay there again.

What I liked about Langley Hotel Gustovia is that the hotel is situated right on the opposite side of the Chamonix Mont Blanc Station. Location-wise is excellent. I do not find the hotel to be dirty. We had a twin bed with the mont blanc view on the 2nd floor. The view was just perfect, breathtaking and picturesque. The bathroom was really minuscule and water splashed everywhere after a shower. Otherwise, it was neat, small and clean. The receptionists were ok; I wouldn't call them to be that friendly. They were not rude; they just did their jobs. The hotel is under external renovation so we could not see the beauty of it. Otherwise, a good hotel that I can recommend. :) P.S. wifi worked in all rooms, too....and not just in public areas.

Situated right near the Railway station and close to all the restaurants and activities you desire.
This property is undergoing external REFURBISHMENT - Though the internal was clean and modern, the staff was friendly for our group of 12 and the Rooms were clean and modern / but antique style - with a cute old bath / shower set up...
Breakfast the next day was a perfect starter to a 12 day hike through the Haute Route trail from Chamonix to Zermatt -
Would i stay here again ? YES...
Comfortable room in a very central hotel undergoing repair/refurbishment
CB-NORon 06/07/2017 23:41We had ordered a family-room (for 3 adults) and we were pleasantly surprised that the room was prominently placed on the first floor overlooking the square outside the railway station. The room looked a bit worn, but was actually very comfortable (the rather "tired" wall-to-wall carpet had us fooled). The large bathroom had recently been refurbished (at least it looked nice, clean and new). The room also had it's very own veranda with 2 charis and a table. Very nice.
The hotel has a very central location in town. The down-side is that there is quite a bit of noise from the street (and the bars) - if you choose to keep the windows/doors open (which is something that is necessary during hot summer evenings). If the room had had a ventilation system or an airconditioner, this problem would have gone away.
The hotel was undergoing some major repairs/refurbishment. The facades were covered with scaffolding. The elevator was out of order. It didn't seem as if anyone was in a great hurry to have it repaired.
We didn't have breakfast or any other meals at the hotel, as there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.
All in all we were quite happy with our stay.
The most terrible place on earth
Cecília Mon 01/07/2017 23:07know dozens of countries in different continents. I've been to dirty, noisy, dangerous and tense places, but nothing was worse than the Gustavia Hotel. By the way, this hotel only continues because it is in Chamonix. Lots of noise from 7am, staff rude and dishonest. The breakfast ends 15 minutes before the scheduled time, the food is dirty and has no clean dishes/glasses. There is no elevator, nor who can assist you to the third floor. The hotel is filthy, smelly, no heating in the rooms, the shower curtain is 30cmx50cm - nome can fit into it. This "hotel" is really a nightmare.
I had to spend 4 days here and only managed to continue due to the beautiful city that is Chamonix.
