Great Residence in a great location
Frustrated255060on 27/04/2017 01:46My two Daughters and I stayed at Lanson Place and found it to be very clean, spacious and in a great location close to cafe's, restaurants and shops. The French Concession area is also great for shopping (designer) and has many restaurants and cafe's. The only downside is that the tea/coffee/sugar/milk sachets were not replenished and we had to keep ringing them to replenish stock but only on the last day we were told there is a coffee machine with tea/coffee/sugar/milk on level 33. Their gym and pool were under renovations but we were provided with vouchers to swim at The Langham which is a super hotel and has a beautiful pool and a fully equipped gym. Unfortunately they only offered us vouchers for one visit but if we insisted I'm sure they would have given us vouchers for another day. The Guest Relations Manager (who is Swiss) is very knowledgable and helpful whereas the other staff had no clue as to where anything was. The other challenge is getting cabs to take you from point A to B so it is wise to get a business card from the Hotel/Residence on arrival and use this to show the drivers when you want get back. Also look for taxi ranks and hotels to catch cabs as otherwise you will be hailing several cabs and in spite of having an ap to translate your destination from English to Chinese this proved to be 'too hard basket'. Also be very careful when crossing as even though the pedestrian light is green the cars/scooters/bikes have no regard and will run you down!!
Great hotel with fantastic service
Klaus Bon 03/12/2016 08:45I lived for 6 months with my family in a serviced apartment and I can highly recommend it for tourists and for longer term residents. This prime location is 2 minutes walk away from bustling Xintiandi, which has a large choice of restaurants, shops and pubs. The apartments are quite, spacious and very well maintained. In the breakfast room it is very easy to chat to other residents/tourists and share some experiences. Manuel Staerkle and his service team do a fantastic job with making everyone feel special and at home!
Great Hotel with good location
Leo Hon 16/10/2015 18:11We came to Shanghai for 3 days and extended for additional night due to Typhoon in HK. We ordered a 2 bedrooms but upgraded to 3 bedrooms. The residence is huge and has lots of space with spectacular view of Shanghai & Xin Tian Di. All 3 rooms in good conditions. Only the bathroom need to get little work since it is a bit dated (but still acceptable). The Kitchen provide a full kitchen tools if you like to cook. We cooked during the whole stay so it is very useful to us. The housingkeeping staf is very nice and she helped us with our questions. Hotel is about 1 minute from Xin Tian Di, 2 minutes from Langham and 5 minutes from the famous upscale shopping street. Food is easily accessible around the hotel and the Xin Tian Di area provide numeruos venue to hang out. Another input from us to the hotel is probably better if the person sitting on the front desk can improve their English since most of the guests are foreigners. We will use this hotel from now on if we visit Shanghai.
Great location
DaveWarneron 30/09/2015 17:12Good quality apartments in a fantastic location - right on top of Xintiandi and walking distance to lots of other sites. Very spacious apartments, with good amenities. Hard wooden floors were very loud, but thankfully we didn't seem to have anyone staying above us.
Wonderful property in great location
Iwoaltaon 14/07/2015 10:35Wonderful large serviced apartments in the heart of Xintiandi. Very helpful front desk with good English. Beautiful clean property. For breakfast, head east along Taicang Rd for three blocks and turn left on to Songshan Rd for 50m and there is a steamed bun and pancake stand - simply delicious. See the long lines of locals getting breakfast. But it's very quick.
