Fabulous Resort and Perfect for Visiting Tikal
M Jon 29/05/2017 18:23Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel is one of the nicest resorts we have ever seen. It is a beautiful property with excellent staff and amenities. Each room is actually a private cabin which is beautifully appointed, completely private, and has an enclosed porch with a large hot tub overlooking the lake.
The restaurant is superb and overlooks the resort's large lake, its pool, and has a view to the resort's two islands. For our stay, breakfast was included and we could order any (or all) item we wanted. Each was cooked to perfection. The french toast was absolutely to die for! Each dinner was a gourmet meal, again prepared perfectly. The chef at Las Lagunas is truly extraordinary!
We arranged a tour to Tikal with the hotel and this was quite good. The hotel also offers a tour each morning to its two islands, on which live monkeys that have been rescued and cannot be returned to the wild (although the islands are very large and the monkeys have the islands all to themselves so they are in the wild but without predators). On the tour, staff and guests can feed the monkeys, one of whom will come onto the boat, sit next to guests and then hop off at the next stop. Very engaging!
Las Lagunas is a superb resort which we highly recommend.
Paridise in the Jungle!
Randy-Sterkenburgon 28/05/2017 15:58Truly a paradise in the jungle, our stay at the Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel was amazing to say the least. We were there for a destination wedding in May. The service/food/and amenities we're exceptional. Iara, the hotel manager, was simply amazing. She went out of her way to promptly answer all of my questions when I was preparing for the trip. Upon arrival, Iara and her husband Mike graciously greeted us. They are very down to earth and made us feel very comfortable and at home. Iara made sure every detail was complete The resort is breathtakingly beautiful situated in the middle of the jungle, and conveniently located about 45 minutes from Tikal and 15 minutes from the nearest town of Flores. Every morning and evening we were greeted by chirping birds and howling of Howler monkeys, giving the resort an even more exotic feel.
The staff worked tirelessly making sure that all of our needs were met. They have a wonderful chef. My favorite meal was the Peppercorn steak. It was cooked to perfection, being the tenderest steak I've ever eaten and the peppercorn sauce was to die for.
They also have a new spa facility that is amazing. Las Lagunas Boutique hotel is the most beautiful Hotel we've had the pleasure of staying at. Visiting of the ruins of Tikal and Yaxhá made it the trip of a lifetime!!

Exceptional!!
Tom Son 26/04/2017 23:50Let start by saying I own a hotel so I might notice items other miss and appreciate the effort, planning and work that goes into creating a Hotel of this caliber . Las Lagunas is one of the nicest hotels i have ever stayed at. From the minute you enter the gate it is apparent you have arrived somewhere special. A long drive way with lush foliage on either side leads the the main building. The reception was warm and gracious and they offered us a cool towel and a cold drink to welcome us. The common area where meals are served has a beautiful view of the lake and pool. There is an extensive menu and wine list that will satisfy everyone and the service is impeccable . There are 20 or so cabins on a peninsula that juts into the lake and are accessed from the main building by an elevated boardwalk. The cabins are spacious and have all the amenities you could wish for and more. Private hot tubs over looking the lake, strong fast internet, mini bar, fine linens, and L'ocitaine bath products. Be sure to wake up early in the morning to watch the mist rise of the lake while listening to the Howler monkeys and the watch the tropical birds fly by. The property consists of over 200 acres of thick jungle and lakes We did a day trip to Tikal which is amazing and topped it off with late afternoon massages at the brand new spa. This is a special place not to be missed. You will not want to leave.
