Our nearly grown kids were off on their own adventures. We took a trip to Santa Fe and stayed at Las Palomas. Very good location close to the square with parking. We absolutely loved the included breakfast and espresso drinks ALL DAY! Our studio was nice, with a fireplace, high beamed ceilings, skylight, stone floor, and wifi. It was very quiet! Only bummer was that the bed was too soft for my husband. I would recommend Las Palomas to friends visiting Santa Fe, in fact I already have!

Charming & Exceptional Breakfast

This B&B is two or three blocks from the Plaza. The staff is very friendly and very service oriented. We made a "last minute" reservation through Priceline for an overnight stay while on a road trip to Taos. Our room was a studio that was large enough to be very comfortable with a small sofa, a table and chairs, wood burning fireplace, and all the amenities necessary for a very pleasant experience. There is a small courtyard that was only a few steps from our room, which was enjoyable in the late afternoon, evening, and early morning, but needed some landscape maintenance to enhance it's beauty. The a/c worked well, except the bathroom was a little warm, but not really an issue for us. The breakfast was exceptional -- made to order omelets, speciality coffee drinks (cappuccino, latte, etc.), and everything imaginal continental breakfast selections. Lots of outstanding restaurants within walking distance are in the area.

Rustic and Quirky, to steal from another reviewer....

Spur of the moment road trip to Santa Fe. Checked reviews etc and chose Las Palomas Inn. To be clear, it is listed as a Bed and Breakfast, but in my book it is not your traditional B&B. Which was great for us, as my husband refuses to stay in a B&B as we had a very bad experience at one long ago.
We booked a King bed with a fireplace via Expedia. The price was great. Upon arrival (we were an hour early, due to the time change) we were allowed to check in. The place is maze of rooms very Santa Fe. Ours was #12 in the back.
A "good" room. From the door one walks directly into the bed room with the fireplace and couple of chairs. Our room had a kitchenette, not sure if they all do and a nice size bathroom. After a bit of relaxation we cleaned up to go to town. We then found that the bathroom had a few problems. We had been down this road before elsewhere and decided this time we would not "just put up with it". We went to the front desk, let them know what was going on. Steve, I think was his name, gave us 3 options, one was to move to another room. It was the best option so we did. It was just around the corner from our other room. This room was bigger with a living room, separate bedroom kitchenette and nice bathroom, which functioned fine.
One thing the floors were a bit uneven, it did not bother us, actually contributed to the charm, but I can see folks with mobility issues may find this not such a good thing.
Las Palomas was close enough to town to walk. One must cross a fairly busy street but the signal lights work just fine.
About breakfast, it is served in the area of the office. AND it is NOT just muffins , toast and oatmeal. There is a kitchen where one can order wonderful coffee drink, omelets, and waffles. We tried something different each of the 3 mornings we were there. I made sure to leave a nice tip in the jar for the kitchen staff. They work very hard, and I tried not to order anything off the menu. Breakfast lasts until around 10:00 AM which is great. There is also a coffee maker in the rooms.
Our stay was great, it was cozy and quirky. We did not make a fire as there were notes the first night telling us it was too windy. And really it was too hot. But I can imagine in the fall or winter it would be lovely.
Try this out, I understand that there is a diverse choice of rooms, even houses. Good find in Santa Fe.

July 4 Vacation in Santa Fe

We had a wonderful stay at Las Palomas Inn at Santa Fe. The staff was very friendly and helpful even when the hotel was full to the brim with other holiday travelers. The rooms were excellent but the bed was third rate. We especially enjoyed having a fragrant fire at night even though it was July. Love the place and will book again next time we go to Santa Fe.

Rustic and Quirky

Great Santa Fe adobe charm within walking distance to plaza, rail yard and Guadalupe street district
The breakfast included made to order waffles and omelets. They were awesome. Coffee was weak. We would stay again.
