Happy to be at Lavendish
_295368on 24/02/2017 17:39Good day to Everybody!
About two weeks ago we with our friends visited Sri Lanka. Actually that was our fourth time being there. And now we stayed at a very hospitable hotel `Lavendish Beach Resort` in Una Watuna.
This hotel is favorably located in comparison with the others, right across the road, particulary within a few steps to fantastic sands of the famous beach of Una Watuna, enabling us to enjoy azure vawes of the ocean, beautiful sunrises and unforgettable sunsets - a real paradise on the Earth.
We lived in very comfortable rooms in a separate cottage which is surrounded with green lawn with palms and ecsotic plants, with coming monkeys and songs of birds, next door to a swimming pool which certainly is considered to be as additional bonus.
We are very grateful for a very kind reception to all personnel being ready to assist us 24 hours a day.
And special thanks to Mr.Nandadewa Jayaratne, who arranged everything to make our vacation as real holiday.
We very hoping to come back to `Lavendish` next time, it is really worth to visit.
Yours Sincerely,
Vasiliy and Leyla (Ukraine).

Good hotel nearby beach
Олеся Кon 14/12/2016 16:36At the entrance to the Lavendish Beach Hotel a smiling girl met us. The waiter brought fresh juice, which was very nice after a long road. With early check in there were no problems. Immediately a hearty breakfast was fed. The rooms overlook the garden, where a lot of greens. There is a small clean open pool in the hotel. The rooms are located away from the main road, that helps to avoid noise. And the fact that the hotel is across the street from the beach, reduces the number of mosquitoes. In the manager's office there is a safe, where you can leave your valuables. Hotel's team knows English quiet well. I recommend this hotel.
Goog service for allowable price
okadatskayaon 14/12/2016 15:07Responsive and friendly staff of Lavendish Beach Hotel is always ready to promptly assist with any issues and fulfill guests inquiries. Breakfasts include a lot of different fruits, fresh juices and snacks. Changing of bed sheets, cleaning room, providing with beach towels upon request. There are everyghing you need in the room: LED TV, mini-fridge, a fan and AC, a big comfortable bed, wardrobe, dressing table, kettle, Wi-Fi, shower, free soap and shampoo. There was a case that demonstrated the honesty and integrity of the entire hotel team. Leaving for a tour at 03:00 am they prepared lunch boxes for us, which werent made for other travellers from differetnt hotels, and the most important thing that we have forgotten cell phone at reception, which was handed over to hotel manager and stored until our return after 2 days. It is worth to spend your vacation in Lavendish Hotel!
Out of date, grubby and scruffy
callamiaon 05/12/2016 21:42We booked this tour through an agent in Anand, Gujarat using Jetwing tours Sri Lanka.
The other hotels were of a high standard but this hotel is dingy, scruffy and only suitable for backpackers paying a lower rate. One look at our room - small in size, poor quality furniture stained curtains and a view of derelict hotels opposite and I asked for a better room.
We were shown two more which looked a bit better, but smelled damp, and each time i said I wasn't sure, and they showed me a huge, but equally scruffy suite which had possibly been very nice about 20 years ago.
We took it but it wasn't of a good standard.
Staff were lovely and very helpful, although one senior member of staff told me they didn't have any other triple rooms- and yet all the rooms we saw were triples!
Food was limited in choice, but was really nice.
To reach the beach you have to cross a busy main road on a corner! So rather dangerous.
I'm not sure who was to blame- the hotel, the agency or the tour operator.
The manager told me it was part of a chain of hotels which are very nice (we stayed at one or two) so I think it is a very cynical company.
