What People are saying
A bygone elegance
Bruce Kon 15/08/2017 16:11You are staying in a real palace , and one that is a historical monument ... so don't expect small things to be perfect.Despite it being historical it does have power points for things like electric razors ,computers, Hairdryers ,etc. The room we had (for two people ) was an enormous master bedroom, a side bedroom that was bigger than the master in most hotels and a very large shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There are no lifts as it is a very old building, and they would probably destroy its feel of history. As we were on the second floor and none was above us in the building we were in there was no problem. Dinner meant a stroll out of one building and a 2-3 minute walk to another building, with a very large dining room and tremendous decoration and chandeliers. An Indian Wedding was on the night we stayed there , but the hotel is so vast you were barely aware of it apart from walking past the area being used by the wedding to get to the dining room. Food is Indian style for all meals , so don't expect a European/American style breakfast . There are one or two cereals and toast can be made , for those who don't want cooked Indian food at breakfast. The meals were all well-prepared and very tasty. The staff were helpful when needed , and didn't get "in your face" when you wanted to be left in peace. It certainly was a bit of old luxury and I would certainly recommend this place. The gardens in the front are huge and are a park in their own right .
Loved it!
Sam Ron 31/07/2017 18:15The Laxmi Villas Palace is beautiful! Not sure how one could complain while staying a yellow palace! The property was beautiful and my bed was so comfortable, out of my four weeks in south asia it has been the best night of sleep so far!
Delicious Lal maas
Aladdin_Gurgon 31/07/2017 16:48I tried Lal Maas n it was delicious .. it's a traditional rajasthani dish which is on little spicy side. Melt in the mouth..It was not very oily n perfectly cooked... Too good. I can drive down to Bharatpur to eat Lal Maas here....
Awesome experience
Swati Aon 24/07/2017 09:08We went there for two night three days stay.. Rooms were decorated in a very classy manner and huge. Superb hospitality and a total rejuvenating experience. Loved it and will definitely go again.Food was good though could have been better in terms of limited options available.
Old World charm, with lots to improve
Dhruba Bon 08/07/2017 08:48Bharatpur was always on my bucket list being an avid bird lover. Finally got a chance to visit the place this winter!!! Me and my wife always wanted to enjoy a vacation in the haveli's and when we checked into Laxmi vilas Palace hotel, it was gateway to to the old world charm of Rajasthan. Our Check-In and all formalities were very smooth, when we checked into our rooms, I felt I have reached the time of Raj!!! To come to our rooms we had to cross two layers of open areas with self size portraits of past rulers. Our room was just next to owners of the property!!! It was spacious suite. Bathroom has all modern amenities!!!
The most negative part of the bathroom was the water !!! The property was having some issue with their water pump and every morning or evening when we come back from our safari, the taps would run dry. And it would take at least an hour to get things back to normalcy.
Hot water was readily available as it was winter when we visited
Wifi at the central area was good
Food was not up to the mark of the hotel, though they served hot food, but could have been better.
