Charming hotel in Alpes de Maritime France!
Lorri Won 08/06/2017 23:24Le Cagnard has operated as a hotel for centuries and is part of Haut de Cagnes, a medieval village and castle still standing and occupied. The rooms are named for artists that created paintings of the town, and are well appointed with comfortable beds, and gorgeous high quality linens. Very attentive staff. Beautiful balcony restaurant with breathtaking view. The sommelier Jonathan was exceptional. A truly romantic experience. You will love this place.
Beautiful hotel in Cagnes with excellent Management
JLTFernandezon 08/06/2017 20:11Spent there one night with my wife and baby. Hotel is on the top hill in Cagnes overlooking the mediterranean sea. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We parked our car at the botton of the city and hotel driver came to pick us up to take us to the hotel. Cagnes is very small town with narrow streets and almost imposible to park. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant, although it looked very good.
Rooms are very cozy and well decorated with nice views. We had a problem during the night, with a noise coming from a machine located in the ceiling which prevented us from sleeping very well. Next day, we discussed it with the management and were very apologetic and refunded us with the price of the room, which shows the high quality class that this hotel is and how its management take it very serious to make sure that all customers are happy and satisfied. Extremely happy with the management of this hotel. Despite the problem we had, we would recommend this high quality hotel which it is fully committed with customer satisfaction and excellent service.

StourbridgeRoseon 03/06/2017 18:46We spent one night here before going to Cannes and I wish it could have been longer. The hotel is fantastic and the staff were really helpful. We had a lovely room which was a junior suite with a large balcony looking towards the sea. The bathroom was spacious and everything you needed was provided and a well stocked mini bar and nespresso machine. There was a complimentary bottle of wine which we enjoyed on the balcony. We ate in the restaurant on the terrace and food and service were exceptional. We had the tasting menu with wine and all the wines were great. Very different from our usual choices but really complimented the food. I'm totally spoilt now from eating chicken as it really was the best I've ever eaten. I confess to being a little disappointed when initially told the tasting menu main course was chicken but how wrong I was. It was great. The bed in the hotel was really comfortable with a thick topper and the pillows were so comfy. All in all this place is a little gem. If you get the chance to stay here then do it.
Beautiful Hotel. Need to be fit !
John Gon 26/05/2017 08:17We spent 5 days stay at Chateau Cagnard in May. It's a beautiful property situated at the very top of Haut Cagnes a medieval village. Small alleyways and picturesque views abound. We stayed in a junior suite (called Matisse) which had fantastic views over the town below to the bay. It was situated a short distance from the mail building along an alleyway as I understand several of the rooms are. The staff are extremely friendly and polite. The views from the restaurant were also beautiful. A short stroll away is a square also with fantastic views and has restaurants of which we can recommend Jimmys and the Grimaldi. All are good but these two are the best value and food is excellent. The only reason I have not give the hotel a rating of 5 is the fact that it's not at all suitable for guests of restricted mobility ( we are not so it was fine). However the streets, steps and alleyways are extremely steep and hard going. So be warned. How to get there: from the airport cross the main road in front of terminal 1. Get the 200 bus (1.5 euros per person) to Cagnes Sur Mer and get off at Square Bourdet. Now here's what we found out which is extremely useful. Adjacent to the bus stop is another where you can pick up a small 44 bus (which is a free service) that takes you to the top of the old village ((Haut De Cagnes) and you are very close to the hotel. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant other than breakfast which was the usual buffet and pleasant enough. A lovely 5 star hotel in a beautiful (if remote for a city hotel) location.
A little French fairytale - don't miss out!
TigerLilySWon 24/05/2017 14:02I visited this beautiful little chateau with my hubby for 5 nights. It's a luxury rustic retreat dating back to the 13th century. All the rooms are named after famous artists. An historic little village with oodles of charm, close to Nice with breathtaking views. The food is delicious and the staff cannot do enough to help. Definitely visit if you have the chance.
