What People are saying

Top hotel

266clareson 02/07/2017 22:36

Stayed for 4 nights, the food was in the Bistro great, the staff were great, overall a brilliant stay.
The grounds of the hotel are unique.
The wine list is excellent.
Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Very charming, but disappointing rooms

BDS622on 19/06/2017 08:14

A bit difficult to find, but seemed like a beautiful place. The highly priced room we got, was very basic, and small. The facilities were however quite up to top standards. Lovely swimming pool, with heating. The brasserie of the evening, on the beautiful terrace, also gave a perfect frame for the very good meal. And what a rosewine! From Domaine d'Esclans, was among the best. Conclusion, very good quality, but too highly priced rooms.

Beautiful converted Hotel but ...

christine ron 02/06/2017 10:50

This converted hotel is absolutely stunning. We are familiar with the Relais Chateaux brand in New Zealand and was a little disappointed the standards were not as high. The Superior Room is adequately sized but be aware some rooms do not have showers, bath only, this did not show on booking, also not all rooms have DVD players as stated. We were a little disappointed the same menu was served lunch and dinner and pleased therefore to only be staying one night. Recommend the Spa.

Amazing renovation of an old convent

lucaerranteon 16/05/2017 16:59

Just one night in this truly beautiful former convent transformed into an amazing hotel. Junior suite was nice, not luxurious, but it's the spirit of the establishment. Spa closes at 8 PM. Wifi didn't work. Dinner at the bistro was good, even considered the not unexpensive price. Beautiful region, by the way. Definitely recommended.

Seriously; whats not to like? LOccitane spa, Michelin star, architectural gem

smithinozon 22/03/2017 22:23

My wife and I stayed a friday and saturday night, March, 2017. Arrived Friday, dropped bags in room 206. Went straight down to spa and booked a massage for both of us at the same time in the same room with two expert masseuses. If you're from another planet then you've probably not heard of L'occitane. If you are from Earth, then you will have heard of their products and to go to their spa is ...... lovely. Great steam room, great sauna and lovely heated indoor pool - all clean. After the spa we had booked in for the full tasting menu in the michelin star restaurant. 7 mini courses and off the charts good. Same price as the massage. Whats not to like? We proceeded to take our left over champagne and the maitre de showed us to the chapel which is built in to the building. We proceeded to play billiards at the alter and finish our drinks in candle light, alone. Now that;s a good friday night!

The room we were in (206) was small but that is listed on the web site. its up stairs and you need to duck your head to get in but it has a cool little private terrace, which has a view of the adjoining village (which has a bakery for croisants etc). We loved the room but i can see how if you were used to the marriott or the hilton this would not suit! They have bigger more expensive rooms, so get those if size is a worry and budget is not but to be clear, this is a converted convent that has been converted with extreme attention to detail. This is not a cookie cutter main stream concrete box!

Saturday we explored the adjoining gardens and then went driving around the little towns for lunch. we dined in the hotel brasserie on Sat night. All good.

On the Sunday the outdoor pool opened up for business for 2017 and its heated and has drink service. We had a bottle of champagne by the pool and swam most of the day on Sunday. Heated outdoor pools are few and far between at hotels so this was an awesome plus! 25 degrees mid march whilst still snowing in the Nordics. This is the place to be!

One final thing. English is not great with most staff apart from the Maitre D. We like this. Its France, not England. You'll survive!

Thanks for a wonderful stay and for doing what you have done with the place. Faaaaantastic.
