ameysdon 28/08/2017 21:46The location of the hotel was excellent and the room was big and extremely comfortable for three persons. The included breakfast was a boon. The hotel was centrally connected and was next to the train station. The arrangement with indigo parking lot was an excellent idea

Alison Ron 26/08/2017 23:12We stayed at the Grand Hotel to break up a long journey up through France. The hotel is in a great location in Tours, right by the (very beautiful) train station. Easy bag drop at the hotel before parking the car overnight in a manned car park 30 secs from the hotel (preferential rate for hotel guests). We had a large room which slept 4 (adults in a super king bed, kids on 2 camp beds). No view from our room but very quiet. Enormous bathroom with double sink, good shower and freestanding bath. Breakfast standard continental with some additional cooked food if wanted. Hotel very comfortable, very friendly staff. We are planning our next visit to see more of Tours!
No parking, breakfast not good
charlesaL492YAon 25/08/2017 07:53Parking in nearby carpark only and nowhere obvious to unload bags outside of hotel. Beggars outside hotel. Breakfast area very noisy and food below average quality. My wife only ate a single kiwi and hated the stewed coffee. Breakfast and carpark cost not included so a cheap overnight stop became expensive and not good value.
Almost there
maccyqon 21/08/2017 17:23Whilst I had a pleasant stay, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed by the hotel. I chose this hotel because of its central location which was great as a tourist.
The hotel website used glossy images which presents the hotel as very recently refurbished, however my experience found that the decor was a bit tired which was disappointing.
Room facilities were ok but not worthy of the price tag when you book directly with the hotel - hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Service from staff was good when you dealt with them, however there were never a "bonjour" or "bonsoir" when passing reception. Little touches like that make you feel more welcome.
Overall it's a decent stopping point for a few nights. However, I found it over priced for what I got and would strongly recommend looking at hotel comparison websites for better deals.
Wonderful stay at Le Grand Hotel
andyrhamon 21/08/2017 13:51Travelling back from South of France to Scotland, we stayed at this wonderful hotel. Situated right beside the Central Train Station on Tours it was an excellent location to explore the lovely city of Tours. The hotel service was very good, especially having the 24 hour reception which was vital as we arrived at 4am after a very long journey. Thanks to all at the hotel, we had a lovely time and would definitely book a longer stay next time
