What People are saying

A perfect stay

SantaSusannaon 11/05/2017 18:27

With large and spotlessly clean, modern rooms inside a former, charming manoir, we had a wonderful 2 night stay in a convenient location while we visited some of the sites nearby. Nice linens and toiletries, a mini bar and Nespresso machine in the room, a large comfortable bed, bathrobes (steam room available), slippers and a huge bathroom made our stay pleasant beyond expectations. The welcome was warm; everyone was friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast too, and the jewel in the crown for us was the restaurant, which served innovative dishes with the freshest ingredients. We had dinner there both nights, and we hope to return there sometime soon.

Excellent little hotel

We were driving past and liked the look of the building so just took pot luck and rocked up to the door. I had a quick chat to the manager and discovered that at 102€ a night it was exactly the same price as the horrible Ibis hotel on the A65 near Niort we'd stayed in previously.(not by choice,we were knackered and couldn't face going further). We decided to give it a shot.
The room was clean, nicely furnished and warm. It even had a kettle, unusual in France. Hooray. Cup of Tea ahoy. The manageress settled us in and made sure we had everything we needed before leaving us.
We decided to try the restaurant. It is a separate business under the same roof. We chose the 29€ set evening menu, short but sounded OK. We chose veal and were delighted at what we were served. First a little amuse bouche of potato pie, followed by quail with a pear compote and a fried quails egg. After that slices of veal with a veal pie and vegetables, and an absolutely lovely medley of 3 mini desserts to finish. There was a little souffle, a chocolate cakey thing,an apricot and mousse thing and some orange sorbet. It was delicious. The whole meal was excellent from start to finish, the waitresses were really attentive and happy to chat about the food and what the flavours were and we really enjoyed it.0p
We staggered off to bed and had a blissful sleep in the very comfortable bed. Good quality linen and proper feather pillows.
We had breakfast in the morning,10€ for a continental breakfast of pastries, sliced cheeses and meats, toasts, cereals etc. They didn't have the option of a full English but since we were in France this wasn't a surprise. We packed up,settled the bill and were bid au revoir by the manager. The staff looked after us well and we enjoyed our stay. All in all a great little hotel in a nice building.

Avoid this establishment .Poor host confrontational and rude

I can only describe this as the most awkward experience ever . The host at the front desk was anything but accomodating . I felt so uncomfortable, and it was as if he was doing us a favour showing us around . Everything was an effort . We could not see the family room after 2pm as it was not done up .We were quoted one price and and later that changed and there was no effort to accommodate us instead the host was content to argue . Never have I meet someone so confrontational, I certainly don't go away to feel uncomfortable and better yet throw money away , when there are better hotels were they aim to please and understand the hospitality trade .

Beautiful Hotel, Wonderful Staff, and Amazing Views

We booked only one night at the Le Manoir D Agnès after another hotel canceled our reservation nearly at the last minute and on the recommendation from the Waters family from the Château de Gudanes. It turned out for the best because we enjoyed our stay immensely. The hotel staff was excellent and provided high quality customer service for both the check-in and check-out processes. Our room was not only spacious, but quite clean and comfortable. We chose the Le Manoir because of its location to the Grotte de Niaux and Château de Gudanes, both of which we toured. It is perfect for exploring the area and the views were spectacular! We most definitely recommend this place.

Surprising find and great place to stay

If not for my travel companions, I would never have selected this hotel, nor stopped at it when passing through. Passing through is exactly what I was doing along the busy N20 from Andorra to Toulouse.
But once parked at the hotel's driveway, you notice what a nicely renovated building it is, beautifully decorated downstairs; very authentic.
Some of that authenticity is lost once you see the rooms. Those are luxury functional, which may come as a disappointment at first. On the other hand, the owners have managed to equip them with everything you need, including effective sound insulation from the busy Route National. A good night's rest is more important than an authentic room...
