Excluding the generator.... a really pleasant adn recommendable stay!

An interesting building style, but great and spacious rooms with mosquito nets and nice warm duvets for chilly nights. Balcony is a real treat to enjoy the desert scenery. Open bathroom (both shower and toilet); so not recommended for "sensitive" persons. Bathroom well stocked with all amenities and also a small bar fridge. Breakfast and dinner was a real treat; well presented and sufficient choice.
Staff helpful and friendly - we asked for an additional room and cancelled the "tower room" and our requests were handled efficiently.
Just a real pity about the HUGE generator that runs day and night. Although it is about 100m from the hotel, I could still hear it in my room, although the hotel had allocated me a room facing away from the generator site (much appreciated). In this day and age, it would really make sense to have solar panels on the roof to replace the generators or at least make it possible to switch off the generator between say 21.00 and 05.00.
Would stay here again anytime.... once the generator is switched off.

Not a good experience

We were very disappointed with the experience, the decoration was shocking, ugly cheap fabric hanging on the windows blocking the view of the desert, we could not understand. Our bedroom was next to the reception what made very noisy and the light in the reception made impossible for us to have a dark room to sleep.

A Castle lodge in the Namib Desert

A pleasant castle like lodge located near the Namib-Naukluft park. Convenient for visiting the park ,sand dune and canyon. A wonderful spa and massage after a tiring day in the desert will be rewardful. Room is clean but wifi is very poor. Restaurant dinner is yummy.

Anniversary break-away

We arrived on a hot windy day and were greeted with a cool face towel and delicious welcome drinks. As it was our 10 year anniversary we were offered a complimentary private dinner in their underground wine cellar. This was a very romantic setting and made our stay feel very personal. All the staff are very well trained and friendly. Well done, and thank you!

Perfect hotel, in a perfect setting. Hotel close to Sossusvlei etc. just a short drive in to the park. Which we did ourselves. Which is very do-able with the 4x4 shuttles that take you to deadvlei at the end of the tarmac road. Hired a Duster from the airport. Also did the hot air balloon ride which was lovely. All over a weekend :) from Joburg. Amazing weekend. Hotel food was good. Friendly staff. Will return again.
