Good for a short stay

Perfectly adequate value hotel for a couple of nights stay. Great location, right on the main square with good restaurants nearby. Our room was a comfort double, large comfy bed, sufficient space for the weekend, very clean, but room was dark due to the style of decoration (dark orange walls). Staff helpful and friendly. We took breakfast for an additional cost, quite basic and not a great deal of choice but fresh and tasty. Overall good stay for a basic value for money stopover.

We spent a fabulous time in this hotel and staff were great very helpful making sure we visited all the highlights in our short stay. The breakfast was great and the town is really special. We picniced down by the river which is well worth a visit ....sit, relax and watch the world go bye. Close to heaven.

Only suitable for a stop over

Recently stayed for a week and was very disappointed.
The Hotel is clean and the staff very helpful, but overall it was very basic and probably best described as a hostel type property, not suitable for a stay of more than a day or so.
There was no bar or restaurant, other than for breakfast which was very limited even by French standards.
The Hotel is situated on a large square and has no air conditioning. It was very hot so we needed to keep our window open and as our room faced the square this created problems with noise from the bar just down the road, dustcarts in the night and one morning they started setting up a market at about 4 am.
The rooms are very basic and drab with no drawer space whatsoever, even though there was room for a chest to be put in. The bed was very low and not comfortable.
There were a number of annoying things, like our room running out of toilet paper with no spare paper in the room, like being locked in when we returned after shopping briefly one lunchtime, like running out of milk and croissants at breakfast. OK they replaced them when we asked but they should have been more on the ball than that.
I could go on!
Plus points were that it was conveniently situated and had plenty of parking outside but I certainly would not return.

Enjoyable stay

I recently stayed for 2 nights with some pals and we all had an enjoyable time - the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We arrived fairly late in from our flight and the manager personally showed us around our rooms and had some charcuterie and nibbles plates made up for us, which was a nice welcome.
The hotel is conveniently located for the local amenities (including the beautiful river) and I found the price very reasonable (I even got a balcony!)

Comfortable hotel in a lovely village

Beaulieu was our first stop on a recent trip to the Dordogne valley. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Our room, which faced the square was a welcome site after a very long day of travel. We arrived much later than expected because of a flight delay. We phoned ahead to the desk clerk who had a cold supper waiting for us in our room (the best salad ever). The location was perfect for exploring the city and surrounding area. The breakfast was superb as was the meal we had in the restaurant. Everything perfect - we would choose to stay here again.
