Michelin quality restaurant in an excellent family run hotel
David Con 10/05/2017 17:07The family run hotel is immaculately managed from reception through to the excellent (should be a starred) restaurant. We had booked another restaurant (1*), however decided to cancel and go to the Hotel's restaurant. The owner's son returned from Mayfair in the UK and set up the restaurant in 2015. We ate there the week after he started and felt it would be great to try it again - a wise decision. Great menu, beautifully prepared and executed. Staff were knowledgeable about the chef's food and attentive as necessary for a great evening.
The rooms are well presented and very comfortable - ours had lake views.
The lake is only a 5 minute walk and there are great restaurants along the foreshore.
What A Meal
MINIPaulon 17/07/2016 08:59Please read beyond this next couple of sentences. We stayed when it was very hot even for the locals. There are numerous music concerts in Aix Les Bains and there was one on the night we stayed. The music went on until 3am. Even though it was 9 Klms away across the lake we could feel the vibrations of the heavy drum beat of what I can only say was poor quality music.
Please please do not judge this hotel by this noise as the food would be worth sitting up for. The lady who looked after us spoke excellent english (even understood my accent) and was passionate about the food she served. Each plate of food was carefully explained and the flavours delivered on the promise.
I would make a detour to stay in this Restaurant with rooms regardless of the music concerts. I will be writing to the local council on the lateness of the music ending.
Worth the detour for the cuisine
Harvey Con 18/06/2016 18:46Went many miles out of our way to revisit and found the hotel completely and beautifully refurbished in character. Maman speaks fluent English and she and her mother are warm and hospitable. Internationally-trained brother is the outstanding chef. Strongly recommended but you may have to book for dinner.

Stefan Bon 03/02/2016 19:51I got this place booked by my company and did not read any reviews before but after reading them now I really cannot agree to the bad reviews some people made.
My room is very nice. It's facing to the parking lot that is more or less next to the main road but it is still very quiet and I don't hear any noise! The room seems to be refurbished not too long ago.
I have a nice flat-screen TV with USB and HDMI inputs *important for me*
The food is awesome and as I don't eat meat they made extra food for me without asking for extra money.
I was trapped today somewhere outside this town and called the Hotel if they could send me a taxi. Instead the owner came to pick me up! Very awesome! Thanks again for that!!!
The owners are very nice and friendly and YES they have a big dog, but it is such a cutie! If you like dogs you will love her!
So from my side I can really recommend this place!
Excellent restaurant

It was such a relief after a 2-weeks French trip, I even couldn't believe my ears :))) Second, they have a VERY nice restaurant in the hotel - we didn't try the breakfast, but the dinner was worth a Michelen star, seriously. The dog was very friendly to us, we didn't have any trouble with her :) And our triple room was very clean and tidy, with a nice lake view from one window, and a mountain view from another. The price was also OK for us, so I would recommend the place.
