Hotel or Construction Site?! You be the judge.

I stayed here till a few days ago for 1 month. I'll keep it short. What good is describing a bed, lobby, wifi, breakfast etc if the place turns all of a sudden into a construction site?! That's exactly what happened to this hotel about 3 weeks ago. The drilling, the hammering, the noise, the dust, started every day from 7-8 am till 6-7 pm. EVERY day, including public holidays and weekends, which is against city and hotel regulations.

When I asked several times the Reception and hotel management about this, their response was either "oh sorry, we'll see what we can do", or "hey, go to the police to report it if you don't like it".

Let me be clear about this, CONSTRUCTION, not "renovation". They closed off entire floors and demolished the walls and everything else in them. Not one floor, but THREE floors. This was in addition to renovation done in other rooms in other floors.

See attached photos and videos and judge for yourself: hotel or construction site? Now think, you are about to spend $60-$80 a night for this??

And if management comes back and says "but only on the higher floors we are doing this and these are private landlords' apartments", well, you better believe that a) a jackhammer on the 11th floor (yes, jackhammer!) will be heard by everyone from the 2nd to the 20th floor and b) these higher floors still are attached to the same hotel building last time I checked.

The serviced apartment was a good size, with a very large king-sized bed and kitchenette with fridge and stove. There was limited storage for a longer business stay. The room was cleaned each day, however the overall cleanliness of the hotel was sub par.

A decent service apartment Hotel near XuJiaHui

The service apartment was of decent sized. It has a small kitchen with stoves, toilet, living room area with working table and sleeping room where beds are located. When we requested for wifi in the room, the staff were able to install a wireless router for us so that we could have wifi access in the room for free. The rates also includes breakfast starts at 7am.
In terms of location, there are eateries further down the road where the hotel was located. It is also 10mins walk to Song Yuan road metro station. A cab ride for $15 should be able to bring you to XuJiaHui area, where large shopping malls, supermarkets and St. Ignatius Cathedral, Shanghai, also referred to as Xujiahui Cathedral, which is a Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral are located.

不是很專業的酒店式公寓

此次三人同行，由上海的同事代為預訂了兩間無吸菸房(一間單床房和一間雙床房)。
單床房的窗簾上，灰塵都積成了棉絮狀，雙床房裡則是濃濃陳年菸味(KTV或撞球場的味道)，床頭雖然放了禁菸的牌子，茶几卻擺放著菸灰缸和火柴。房務部說無煙處理可以去除氣味，然後拿芳香劑到處噴(順便默默把菸灰缸和火柴收走)，房間味道變得更臭更複雜，讓人直想打噴嚏。再次反映後終於幫我們換房，這次房間卻有淡淡硫磺溫泉的味道，好在冷氣開了一陣子就去掉了。
一進門口的地磚是浮起來的，踩上去摳摳作響。地毯也感覺有點點污漬。浴室的欄杆是鏽蝕的，排水管孔的蓋子也沒固定好。
Check-in時有詢問reception是否有附早餐，服務員說"都有的"；誰知雙床房只有付一份早餐。可能是預訂時未特別說明，但服務員明明知道我們是三個人入住，應可說明詳細狀況。
總之下次不會再選這家酒店了。
We reserved two non-smoking rooms (One single room and one two-bed room) via colleagues in ShangHai. In single room there is big puzzle of dust on the curtain. In two-bed room, it is in terrible smoky smells. Although non-smoking sign is on the bedside table, they also provide an ashtray and match!! After expressing opinion, they spay lots of aromatic which made the room in worse flavor. After protesting again, we were changed to another room which is smelled like sulphur spring.
The ground tile is floated. The railing in bath room is rusty. The cover of weephole in bath room is displaced.
When check-in, we asked reception whether breakfast fee is contained, she said yes. But in fact, the two-bed room is with only one set of free breakfast. I think the reception personnel should explain more detail when reply.
I will not try it again.
