What People are saying

Sadness

Overbooked. Paid two weeks in advance for a wedding anniversary. It was a bummer. We missed a dinner reservation due to poor service. We went on a long dirty hike and needed to shower and change before dinner, but ended up sitting in the car for an hour finding another hotel. It may be a nice place to stay but i would not know.

Loved it

Didn't spend much time at the Legacy but the clerk was very knowledgeable and willing to help, made you fell very welcome. The lobby was nostalgic and comfortable. You have no reason to feel unsafe. Stay there once and you will come back.

This is getting a bit of a bad rep.

Back home, a hotel like this would have cost me double regardless of the renovation status.
Yes, the hotel is under obvious renovation, I cannot believe the amount of people winging on here about it. I almost cancelled my room because of you guys.
Luckily I didn't because I was pleasantly surprised.
The room we stayed in on the 4th floor was HUGE! Comfortable bed, could have held a party in the room. Couple of seats, free wifi, desk - all your basics.
Freshly painted, air con, small bathroom but who spends all day in there, really.
Service was okay, breakfast and parking were free.
Breakfast was nothing to write home about but it filled me up.
A little bit of work during the afternoon, again, for the price I couldn't have cared less.
Would I stay again? Most definitely.
Hopefully the conclusion of the renovations will result in more positive reviews.

Should Be Closed

Dirty and under badly needed renovations, not mentioned when I reserved, what a disappointment. So glad it was only one night. Windows don't open. Low quality mattress and pillows. Lamp shade had holes in it as if attacked, disgusting or shall I say 'shady'. The refrigerator had to be unplugged for the noise. Very loud a/c. Flood lighting on building requires drawing blinds completely or it feels like Times Square in the room. Does the owner really feel it necessary to light this dreadful building all night long? Yuck.

Pass

We booked online and opted for the deluxe king suite because in the pics it looked as though the room had been updated as opposed to the others that looked older. We arrived and found everything in the lobby wet with paint with plastic wrapped furniture. Understandable because of the remodel. We got to our room and found it was 2 bedrooms set in a suite. The first room looked as pictured with padded headboard and contemporary side tables and lamps. The second room was the older style that had been pictured. We left for a play and came back to a hot room. The front desk informed us the contemporary room wasn't supposed to be used. Instead we were supposed to use the older room because that's where the air worked. No bedside tables. The headboard wasn't attached. We found the phone in the window. Large dirty squares where pictures once hung. Tiles missing from wall of bathroom. We found the hairdryer and toilet paper holder thrown in the closet. Neither of the TVs worked. They told us there was vending on the 4th floor. We found a snack machine but no drinks. Next day we found it on the opposite side of the hotel. When we left the door wouldn't close to our room. Everything we spoke to the front desk about such as door not closing. Ac and TV not working they acted as though they were shocked that we expected it to. I understand renodeling. But it would be wise to do a block of rooms at a time and THEN let people stay in them when they are ready. Because right now, everything is false advertisement because those things aren't there.
