What People are saying

Not Clean, Overpriced, Poor Management

lisawupcon 24/05/2017 17:21

After visiting this resort and checked other visitors' reviews, I couldn't believe that the management doesn't care about those reviews at all. They only gave the same response to any negative reviews. They didn't have any improvement at all. The same problems have happened again and again. Like some complaints on shabby room with poor quality of facilities, the problems remain the same. No improvement at all. Ok, maybe it takes time to refurbish decoration, how about cleanness of the room? It supposed easy to improve. No, they remain the same. Room is still dusty. It's easy to see cotton fibers by the walls. The staff didn't clean that part of room at all. The most terrible of all is the toilet in my room was clogged. Let alone the food they serve to their customers. I don't think they want their customers to revisit their hotel and restaurant again.
The only positive part of this hotel is the animals. Those animals do their jobs fantastically, so plz the management, DO YOUR JOB.

Leofoo gives out a warm and cosy feeling as the giraffes and other wildlife are just outside your room window.Beds were super comfortable.Kids went to feed the lemurs.Dinner and breakfast spread was nice.Overall very good.Keep up the good work.

Did not live up to the hype

The good: the room was big, the included breakfast buffet was excellent with tons of choices. The animals were interesting as long as they hang around (but apparently the giraffe goes back to their enclosure during certain times)

The bad: there isn't much to do during the day if you don't have car. I know there are several tours/activites (all costly) but they don't take that long. The "included free activities" are really nothing to get excited about, such as the front door African dance. The children play area is a joke (there is a kitchen set and some books) in a very small area (maybe can accommodate 5 children).

The Worst: we booked the buffet dinner, but because the lack of people at the resorted, they close the buffet and decided to move it to the restaurant, so they charged us (~$42CAD) for the buffet, but only provided us with sone cold dishes/salad, one main hot dish(we can choose) and then some steam vegetables, fried rice and a couple very mediocre dessert, oh yeah the drinks were OJ, water, coffee and tea.

Overall, the resort is nice if you are treating it just as a hotel. Unless you are planning to do other sight seeing in the area (which I would recommend renting a car), I would totally skip this place. Also the food here are pricey, so maybe renting a car and venturing out would be a good idea.

Great view with lots of animals around. Good food as well. There is nothing to do in the evening though. Hoping they can have some family activity in the evening (like night safari or something). Quite pricey but includes everything so its just right.

Mini-Disney-animal type resort, but not up to expectation with its price

Theme Park(s)
Closely connected to a mini-theme park(s), into 4 different themes with rides and animals. Size like Disneyland Hong Kong. A few new excited new rides but most the rest are aged. But have to say that there are quite a lot of rides are for small kids. Food are ok inside as you won't expect too much.

Mini-safari ride
There is a mini-safari with a caged coach for your to see loin, bear, tiger, monkey... the tour guide feeds them in front of you from the caged coach. It is exciting to kids and ok to adults from city, 1 hour ride.

Hotel
A mini greenery with giraffe, zebra, rhino, lemur, mere-cat, sheep, big tortoise etc surrounded by three blocks of hotel rooms and facilities. Good scene from the big window of hotel room and the footbridge connecting different hotel blocks. Well maintained.

Food
This is the worst part (especially dinner buffet), if you add on the price tag (for Taiwan hotel/resort standard), don't know what words can be used to describe... I would rather skip my dinner if I have not paid for it in advance. Breakfast is ok to feed me.

Booking
I really don't understand why they have to make it so complicated! Maybe that is the trick for them to do business. They have all kind of packages, tens of packages, yes, "tens" on the website with all those names. But I could not find out what all those packages and trips mean to me. What are those package included and what are the rides, or programme... At the end of the day, I found that I actually bought a package with theme park tickets. But that was not my intention!! I thought I was buying a safari ride! I am Chinese and does not help either! I finally booked it from Hotel.com, at least clearer in English. You may want to call the hotel and ask for details. No reply from email, maybe I wrote in English.

Room
Aged. Beds are ok. Spacious. Two Queens for 4 people is fine. The bathroom is a three star hotel one. I stayed in Congo room.

Kid's comment (11 years old)
Generally educational and fun for kid. The kid activities in hotel is for aged below 5.

Adults (two families' parents) comment
Will not return the second time. day trip should be better, or maximum one night. Approx USD150 per head per night for a 3 star hotel room. 4 persons stayed in one room costed us USD600 per night. It is Easter holiday in Hong Kong but there is no Easter in Taiwan!!
