The ideal stepping stone in the tri-border area
RudyTheNetherlandson 18/08/2017 18:13We stayed here for three nights as we wanted to vistit the tri-border area of The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The location of the hotel makes it the ideal stepping stone to visit beautiful cities like Aachen itself, but also the city of Maastricht.The rooms are comfortable, quiet and clean. The hotel offers a superb breakfast, but has no other dining facilities. No problem: we had our suppers in the cities we've visited. The hotel lays on the outskirts of Aachen, making it very accessible, near to the freeway. Fine stay, fine hotel.
Stop over during road trip
Paul Mon 02/08/2017 21:02Situated near to the autobahn, in a commercial area about 10 minutes drive from the centre. Although not very picturesque the location was quiet with safe parking (€6 per night). The room and hotel were very clean. The room didn't have a fridge but did have TV, kettle and drinks. A welcome bottle of sparkling water, fruit bowl and the local speciality of ginger bread were a nice touch. The small beer garden was reasonably priced.. Thecontinental hot and cold buffet breakfast was of a good standard.
Top tips We had a room at the back which was quiet. We joined the Leonardo Hotel club for free before booking directly and received discount which beat all search engine sites.
Overnight stay during a long road trip
PJA_FJAon 30/05/2017 15:22Overall a good hotel/motel with a great location for us, close to the autobahn, which was perfect.
The room was a good size, nicely furnished with a separate seating area - more a small junior suite, which we were not expecting. The view was not great but as it's close to the autobahn and in an industrial area, I wasn't expecting much. We were travelling with our one year old son and a good travel bed was provided. He had no trouble sleeping. The room was nice and clean; the bathroom too, although it needed some updating. The shower was excellent with plenty of power; there's nothing worse than a shower that dribbles at you.
The restaurant was small but nicely furnished with a garden room / conservatory. The evening menu was somewhat limited and a little pricey but tasty nonetheless. Breakfast was a buffet with an excellent selection. The waiters and watresses were very friendly and attentive.
Good parking facilties, with no problem to get a space right by the front door.
Overall this hotel suited our need for an overnight stay whilst on a longer journey. I can't imagine people staying here for a traditional holiday.
Good Hotel a little way out from the centre
David Kon 27/05/2017 11:24We stopped here on the last leg of our 15 day trip driving around Germany and found it to be very good but it is a bit remote from the centre. We dined in the Hotel and the food and service were very good.
A surprisingly comfortable hotel
PPgueston 17/05/2017 14:50My first visit to this hotel, and I enjoyed every minute. The room was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed one of the best Argentinian steaks I have had in a long time. Reception, restaurant and bar staff were all charming and helpful.
The only downside for me was the location. Apart from the Tivoli nearby, you need a taxi to explore Aachen - and if you have the time, you really must do that. It has some wonderful medieval parts and a great range of restaurants.
