SteenAliveon 11/07/2014 13:40A very worn down hotel. Elevator not working. Showers not working properly. They do not accept credit cards, though they say on the entrance sign. They close the breakfast for customers, and then the manager enters the restaurant, and get breakfest served beside the declined customers. OK, to be positive. The area and view is fine, and their bills are top ;-)

Daftpaddyon 31/12/2013 06:53Stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights at the beginning of November. Found it to be very clean and the staff friendly and polite. The cost per room about the average for Freetown approx $120 per night. The rooms were spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. I didn't get a chance to have something to eat or drink at the hotel but the next time I am there I will give it a go..
Would stay elsewhere next time
AshleyRhoderickon 29/11/2013 02:18I visited Freetown twice for business in the summer and fall of 2013. Freetown does not have a lot of options when it comes to hotels. The prices all around are high for what you end up getting.
I stayed at the Leone Lodge on both trips. On my first visit, I have to switch rooms three times due to a problem with the air conditioner, then due to a problem with my hot water, and then once again due to the air conditioning. The staff is friendly, but for the price and the over ally service I would not recommend to stay here. If looking at hotels in Freetown, I'd stay at Kingdom Family Lodge. I tried to actually cancel my reservations at Leone Lodge and switch to Family Kingdom, but the cancellation fees were too steep at Leone Lodge.
Great hotel and venue with fantastic staff!
hwal89on 19/11/2013 12:40I cannot recommend Leone Lodge highly enough! I have never stayed in a hotel with such a high standard of customer service. All members of staff, from those on reception to those in the office to those running the bar and restaurant, were incredibly friendly and willing to go out of their way to accommodate us.
The hotel itself is easy enough to get to from the airport (once you get through the frenzy of the airport and the subsequent boat trip!) and the location is great. Lumley Beach is pretty and a nice place to go for a walk along. The bedrooms my colleagues and I stayed in were well equipped with comfortable beds, effective AC, power, hot water, fridges and TVs. There is a hotel restaurant with a good varied menu and all the meals we ate were tasty. If you don’t fancy spending time in your room, the downstairs lobby/foyer area is spacious and a nice place to relax.
The purpose of our stay at Leone Lodge was to run a regional workshop for 20 participants who had traveled to Sierra Leone from all over West Africa. The hotel could easily accommodate all participants in comfortable, clean rooms for the duration. The conference facilities were fantastic and professional, providing the perfect setting for our workshop. Catering was served on time and the traditional Sierra Leonean dishes were delicious. Overall, the event ran very smoothly, all thanks to team at Leone Lodge.
Run down and no hot water
Jason Lon 02/05/2013 16:26I stayed here when it was the Taia Resort so it may have changed, but I had a terrible stay. I couldn't get hot water and the power was out for most of my stay.
The furnishing is bare and the place, though recently renovated at that time, had quickly appeared worn down.
It's a nice location though as it's right on the beach, but it's a far walk to the restaurants and activity of the beach on the near the Barmoi.
