What People are saying

A Real 5 Star Safari Experience!

Sue Gon 08/06/2017 21:36

I have just spent a very relaxed and enjoyable long weekend at Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge. The lodge has fantastic views over natural bush and is surrounded by mountains. The accommodation is perfect in every way and you feel that you have stepped back a bit in time to when a safari meant just that! The individual thatched lodges have everything that you need and the furnishings are of the highest standard - soft fluffy towels, percale linen, and the mosquito net added to the ambiance of a safari experience. Each morning small buck drank from the plunge pool on our deck. Morning game drives were chilly (blankets and hot water bottles were provided) and thrilling! I am a keen photographer and my camera was in overdrive as we encountered lion, buffalo, giraffe, cheetah, rhino abundant birdlife and our guide was extremely well informed and had real passion for wildlife. Afternoon game drives included sundowners and snacks in the bush. The meals were excellent - breakfast was a feast, lunch was a pre-ordered picnic basket and dinner was enjoyed alfresco around the fire pit - again adding to a real safari experience. I really cannot recommend this lodge highly enough. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay and nothing was too much trouble. Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge have really got the balance right 5* experience but at the same time relaxed and informal - I loved my time there - Thank you!

What can I say, 4 nights here on a family recommendation and not disappointed. You immediately feel part of a family whether staff or other residents. Service is attentive but discreet, someone always there if needed. Food options were superb and their wine cellar superb to meet all tastes and price ranges. The reason I say you must go is for the little treats and surprises that make this a home from home whilst making you feel special. Cannot recommend it highly enough, we loved every minute.

Amazing Value for Money

A 4 star rating is a little unkind for this lodge. We stayed 2 nights and the value for money is excellent.

Game drives were fantastic, the accommodation amazing, and the food delicious. The decanter of port in the room each night just a little extra treat that made this one of my favourite lodges I have ever been to.

I will be back!

Absolutely outstanding in every way!

My husband and I spent two nights at Leopard Mountain over the last weekend, and we cannot recommend it highly enough! It was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding bush experiences we have ever had.

As the name suggests, the Lodge is situated on a mountain and has breathtaking views over the valley below and beyond. Our thatched chalet was comfortable (the bed was a dream!), private and spotless with a small plunge pool which was visited daily by the nyala which drank from it.

Food was very good, with a hearty breakfast, a picnic lunch in a basket which one could have on the chalet verandah, or up at the Lodge on the veranda, in the lounge or on the lawn outside. We loved this idea! Dinner was excellent, with four courses served in the boma which has wonderful atmosphere.

The staff were outstanding without exception: genuinely pleased to see us, talk to us and were informative and friendly without being intrusive. We have seldom met a more congenial group of people: they are one of Leopard Mountain's strong points.

Game drives were fabulous: informative, extremely comfortable (hot water bottles in the mornings!) and we were lucky enough to be in Ryan's vehicle. He is incredibly knowledgeable about game, trees and birds and his passion is obvious. He more than went the extra mile for us, and we were lucky enough to have two sightings of lion, and two separate sightings of cheetah on the last morning. We saw elephant, rhino, buffalo and lots of general game. We drove kilometres through the most beautiful and diverse bushland which was a treat in itself.

Would we go back? Most definitely!

P.S. We particularly liked the fact that we were not forced to socialise with the other guests. The choice to do so was ours. We have been to a Lodge where you are given an hour before dinner, and are seated round the bar, which we didn't enjoy. Having said that, we met the most wonderful, interesting people with whom we did engage, but this was our choice.

Fabulous African experience

Such a wonderful location, fabulous staff, safaris were often action packed, food & atmosphere really completed a fantastic experience. We loved the location & had a fabulous family holiday( 2 parents & 3 young adult children). we had good viewing of many and varied wildlife and birds on every drive we went on over 4 days. The hide experience was optional in the middle of the day and was interesting with many birds and animals coming to the waterhole & a ranger to give us information if required.
