Rooms and corridors stink. The carpets were filthy and we could smell smoke everywhere. Service was marginally ok.

The only saving grace was the proximity to the waterfront.

There was a blanket in our room and it stunk.

Be warned

Bad hotel, unpleasant staff

Marmiferoon 29/05/2016 15:45

Upon check in, would be hard to have a worse impression. Dusty and stained carpets across the hallways, smelly place (mix of cigarette smoke with years (?) of missing a good cleaning). The room had enough space and sheets in the bed were clean, as was the bathroom, in general. But everything else was not. The carpet was dusty (don't look under the bed) and the blankets were old, stained and unclean. Breakfast was limited and lunch was of poor quality. There was a mix within the staff: there was a young boy who was nice also a young girl. The chief of restaurant room was cordial, but there was a blond lady who was not really liking us there, and was offensive to some of us on different occasions. Completely unacceptable! I'm a fairly experienced traveler, with years of moving across the globe. This was among my worst experiences ever.

situated next to the harbour

I picked this hotel for its situation next to the harbour, and the harbour is just across the road. Brest harbour is a busy working industrial harbour with little to see.
The Hotel is plain with spacious rooms. Our room was at the rear of the hotel. The décor was simple, clean and the bed was comfortable.
Booking in was easy with no fuss.
Breakfast was a self service buffet with a good choice.
If you want to eat elsewhere, there is also a wide range of restaurants close by

Hotel was fine - great location for all the bars & seafood restaurants at the port, and nice to have free secure parking. it was a fair walk to the town centre, up quite a lot of steps. No issue for us, but others may not be so happy with the distance.
Room was ok, one of the bed legs was broken & the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor.
We had booked through a 3rd party website & upon check out they tried to add on breakfast (which we had neither booked nor taken) & charge us rack rate, not the confirmed rate on my booking email. When I questioned it the receptionist acted like I was trying to pull a fast one & said there was nothing she could do to change it. Eventually after much huffing & dramatic puffing she only charged our card with the pre agreed rate.

Excellent value

I have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. I chose it for its location next to a restaurant where I was attending a function. The price was right, parking secure and the rooms immaculately clean. We both thought the breakfast was very good for such a small hotel with a great choice of rolls, bread, egg, etc plus fresh fruit. The staff were very friendly too. My only slight criticism would be that the sound-proofing room to room could be improved but we were so tired it did not matter that much. The WiFi worked well too.
Being on the sea front in the port gave us the chance for a good walk to the harbour too.
