Lovely

This boutique hotel is very conveniently located. Marcus, the owner, made it very pleasant and it was very easy access to walk around and find all kinds of cool places around.
The hotel was very clean, from the bedroom, bathroom to the jacuzzi. I used their jacuzzi one night, it was lovely, although everyone must know that the water is cool (all hotels in the coast area I stayed in are the same).
The hotel staff were very helpful and assisted on picking us up from the hotel and arranging transport back, they also provided us with maps and suggestions for things to do.
I would definitely go back. Gracias Marcus.
Lovely boutique hotel in best location of Cartagena!. A pure pleasure stay at Mexico Room.

Let me begin from personal observation, the trip to Cartagena made such a wonderful impression on me. The location of the hotel is perfect, it's in very nice quiet and safe neighborhood (Getsamani). It's walkable distance to city center and boat excursions. The hotel itself has a definite feel of a boutique hotel rather than typical Airbnb rental place. The small corridors, rooftop, and all common areas are filled with beautiful local plants. The room I was staying (Mexican) in is spotlessly clean, with perfectly made bed every day, the open roof shower is out of this world. I actually experienced to be in it while it was raining, fantastic experience. Marcus and the stuff of the hotel are wonderful, they go above and beyond to help with any questions and needs you may have including transportation from the airport, advising on safety and scheduling trips you would like to see. I personally would like to thank Bertha, Lady, and Luis for making me feel like I was at my own home, delicious homemade breakfast with fresh fruits and Colombian café, so thank you so much for wonderful experience to all of you :-) Overall, Marcus's place exceeded my expectations, I couldn't ask for more. If you in Cartagena and like to submerge in local culture and stay in safe, clean place on a colorful street, don't look anymore, I highly recommend this place.
Weekend in Cartagena

Spent an incredible weekend at Marcus' lovely B&B in the neighborhood of Getsemani. It is located perfectly outside the old city and feels so much more authentic. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to old town. Communication with the B&B was super easy. They offered to have a car pickup at the airport even though my flight arrived past 10pm. The home is beautifully decorated. The staff are amazing and super helpful. Room was spotless and air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Would definitely stay again for a longer visit. Once you've had your fill of touristy old town spend a relaxing evening walking the streets and alleys of Getsemani with great street food and local artists and musicians.
Disappointing Double Mexico Room
brentp128 on 28/09/2017 19:45
-Twin bed had red marks all over mattress (could have been lipstick or blood). The twin bed in the "Mexico" room also did not come with any comforter/pillows for the 2nd guest.
-For a place that calls itself (and prices itself) as a "bed&breakfast", breakfast was very small. Literally 2 eggs, 2 toast, and 4 cut up strawberries per person.
-Wifi was very unstable, it would go off for 1 hour periods randomly, making it hard to do any correspondence at the hotel.
-Good customer service.
For the price we paid, i would have booked elsewhere in the region.
Cute BnB, Great Staff and Location

Can't go wrong with this BnB. The staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly in planning the perfect visit to the city, making arrangements, accommodations, etc. Lots to do in this fun and eventful neighborhood where restaurants and night life abound! While small, rooms were well appointed and making efficient use of space. If you are more than one or two, it will be very tight ... especially in the room we stayed (Mexico) which really had no room for bags, etc. Breakfast was comprehensive and delicious. Mattress was a bit firm for my taste but relatively comfortable (could use a pillow-top or cushion). The outdoor showers are a novelty. I would say the lack of an outdoor window where the sky can be seen was a drawback. The room could have used a chair as well. Overall, a great choice inside the old city but away from the touristic area.
