Fantastic

I can't really say enough nice things about this place. We stayed two nights in one of the cottages. The fridge was stocked with a selection of wine and a very good local craft beer. The view was spectacular, breakfast was great, and the staff were super-nice. We did not have the time to check out the pool so can't comment on that.

Wonderful Cottage in countryside

We were on vacation in Loire Valley in July and this is the hotel we stayed not far from Chateau Chenonceau. We rented a car, so getting to this place with GPS is easy.

The owner is very friendly. We forgot to call him because we were a bit late for check-in (at around 20:00 pm), but this gentleman recognized us immediately when we drove into the yard of this cottage. The room is very comfortable and quiet. There are vine yards outside, so early morning birds singing is the only sound you hear.

The breakfast is wonderful. I like the bread, and the home made jam.

The restaurant in the nearby city recommended by the owner for dinner is very good, with musicians performing onsite.

Highly recommend this hotel if you have a car.

Great place to stay if you want somewhere quiet and relaxing

This accommodation exceeded expectations. We stayed in one of the cottages which was lovely. It had three bedrooms. One with a double bed, another with bunk beds and a twin room. There was also a kitchen which we used both nights as this location is quite secluded. Sitting on the terrace, looking towards the vinyard with a nice glass of local wine was very relaxing. The accommodation also offers a free tour and degustation which is well worth doing. The wines are lovely. Despite its secluded location it is close to amenities and the sites of the region. I would definitely stay here again.

An unusual accommodation

Imagine a line of 5 very modern bungalows standing on a 100 m wide clearing between two vineyards... Next to an older farmhouse... No other building is in sight. This is how Les Pierres d'Aurele look like.

On one hand this is in the middle of nowhere (in a small road quite far from the village center), on the other hand within a 30 minutes drive radius you can find the most beautiful sites of the Loire Valley (e.g. Chenonceaux, Amboise...). One can certainly relax after a tiring sightseeing day, the small pool is a nice touch to help you unwind.

We stayed at one of the cottages (there are apartmants at the farmhouse, too). They are well equipped and suitable for a family with even 3 children. Given the location the nights are very quite. However, when it's hot the cottages can be also too warm and the mobile AC doesn't help much. Another improvement area is to make the surrounding of the cottages much nicer, it is currently very unkept, not a very nice sight.

The owners are very friendly, they try to help you with any request. Tough they do not speak much English, but this is not an obstacle for them to try to make you feel home.

Overall, this can be a very good base to discover the Loire area if some improvements are made.

Nice people, dirty pool.

We recently stayed at the "cottages" for 5 nights.
Upon arrival we saw the dirty pool and were told it was because of the thunderstorm, the next day nothing was done to clean it. We complained and the next day it still was green and dirty. My husband gave some advice and it appeared they did not fully understand what to do???........after 5 days when we left it was still green although then they at least we're trying to do something about it. It was a big disappointment not to be able to use the pool as the weather was hot. The location is peaceful, but it needs some maintenance. The cottages are new, but quite small, there are 6 beds, and there is plenty of cupboard space, but we were glad there were just the two of us. The mattress was of low quality and was not very comfortable. The shower had its own mind now and then. There is a nice covered terrace in front of each cottage. There are no laundry facilities but they kindly offered the use of their washing machine and dryer. The overall impression was that the surrounding area of the cottages needed some maintenance.
