Eng Oon 05/07/2017 09:47Hotel is old with no air-condition, its stuffy during the hot summer. a lot of flys and insects.
Very noisy at night. Breakfast, the waiter is so forgetful, we have to remind him several times of the fried eggs we want and waited more than 20 mins for a coffee.

carmik12on 02/07/2017 20:33Everything about this hotel is a delight. The rooms are large and comfortable. The , beds and bedding are great. The pool is large and clean. The view is spectacular on either side. The hotel is spotless. The food is terrific. The staff is more than helpful and pleasant. Oh, and every room has a Nespresso machine in it.
Excellent location, Stunning View & Good Hotel experience

+ve: (1) Excellent location and proximity to train stations and shops. We had a great time at the hotel bar, where we bumped into some people staying at hotel over excellent cocktails
(2) good view from hotel (rooms on 1st floor has the advantage)
(3) clean and has an old hotel charm.
-ve: (1) Expensive so plan in advance
(2) though pool and gym facilities. The pool is indoors, which wasnt our favorite.
Unrenovated former "grand dame"
wernolaboundon 30/06/2017 16:05Few air conditioned rooms. Exterior and lobby appear to be okay but once in the halls and rooms the state of overall wear and neglect is glaringly apparent. Pealing paint, filthy carpets, spider webs added up to accommodations that were not at all as advertised. Premium prices were not warranted for this one or two star property. The manager made an attempt to find us suitable rooms (2) but the state of general decay made it impossible. He appeared to have very little to work with. If there are any renovated rooms they were not offered to us. Our family was forced to take a train to Bern at 10pm to find a suitable hotel. I would skip Interlaken next time and visit Bern and Lucerne.
Stunning Views
Michael Gon 30/06/2017 16:03We drug our bags from OST to the hotel, took about ten minutes. The wife complained, but that wasn't unusual. Turned out we could have had the hotel van meet us at the station. The hotel is old but classy and most electronics are updated. The free breakfast was very good and we dined there all three mornings.
Hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant, even though we continually bothered them with requests ranging from extra power converters (free, they have a whole basketful of them), help with the internet, tourist recommendations, and help with the Swiss trains.
Our favorite things were the drive to Grindelwald which is about as charming a Swiss village as you'll ever see; the tram to the top (above the hotel) where the views literally take your breath away; and the train to the top of Jungfrau. Sadly, the mountain was enshrouded in clouds but we all agreed it was a worthy adventure.
I likened Interlaken to Sun Valley, ID except the scenery was more stunning. Our previous favorite spot was Salzburg but now I think Interlaken is our new favorite.
