Fabulous
Ted Hon 04/08/2017 21:44This may be the best place in the Caribbean we've ever stayed at. The 50-meter pool rocked, so did Nemo, the Chill Grill, the restaurants within walking distance, and the drinks were not watered down at all, which is unusual. Only complaint: I wish there were more places to wash sand off your feet before going back to your room—we ended up dragging a LOT of sand back into our room (and the bathroom and bed). There should be more hoses or showers around.
Too good to be true
MaartenOon 02/08/2017 02:26We booked for 14 days. Got a great room, floor level. Room is large enough. And very clean. Two Queen beds for 3 people(2 adults and 1 kid). A Queen is a queen, so pretty small when used to a King back home. But ok. Mattresses are firm. Enough pillows to choose the right one.
Great for kids. 3-4 pools. Clean beach. Enough chairs. Friendly staff.
Restaurants are ok. Pizzaria is great. Chill (beach bar) nice and relaxed. Hemingway's is large and ok.
Tips:
Use the daily shuttle to the supermarket to get your breakfast stuff. Breakfast is expensive ($ 18.50 pp). There is a small fridge in every room.
Ask for a room at floor level. When you have kids I advise you to do that. They can walk in and out without a problem.
Get a massage on the beach. Affordable and good.
Buy a two week access pass for the Dolphin show next door. Cheap and you can go several times. Just for one hour.
The apartment's even look better, but are more expensive.
Great Destination- has everything you need
Larry Zon 22/07/2017 19:09I was so impressed with Lions Dive & Beach club. Great comfortable beds, clean room, with balcony and ocean view. Fabulous guest services. They were very accommodating. On property pools, beach, Restaurants, bars, mini mall, dive rentals, boat rentals, Atv rentals, bans in the bar on weekends. We tried a different Resturaunt each night, all great. No bugs present when we were there. Great fully appointed fitness facility with cardio, machines and free weights, spin and yoga. Free shuttle into town daily. I love coffee, great Coffey served. Great value for the money. The only negative is they really watch the towels. You just need to pick them up at the front desk. 4 star plus. Try it. One klick up to Mambo Beach. Accept Gilders and U$D.
Chill
Natascha Fon 20/07/2017 08:22Looking for a clean hotel with pool and right on the beach (no road in between), with sunbeds and Cabana's owned by the hotel (no pay), suitable for very young kids because of the shallow water (enclosed "laguna")? Lions Dive is a quiet and safe paradise.
Boulevard Mambo Beach (with Starbucks, Subway, ice cream shop etc.), is within walking distance (2 min), as are party bars and a casino. A shuttle will bring you to Willemstad and back in minutes and every morning a shuttle visits a big supermarket. (Local supermarkets can be visited in Willemstad and are much cheaper.)
The resort has different options to lunch and dine, and has a decent breakfast at the beach (check if this is included in your booking as it's not cheap).
The rooms are decent and clean. Some rooms share a balcony.
Not a noisy resort. Some performances in the early evening at the restaurant (music mainly 80's and 90's), a voice-over about twice a day from the nearby aquarium.
Wifi works best on the beach.
Suitable for everyone, but some might find the housekeeping too loud and the waitresses too blunt.
You won't be disappointed
Rideoutwinteron 10/07/2017 19:43Simply wonderful. I usually stay at the Sunscape (on the same street, just down the road), but always come to Mambo beach to hang out. lion's dive is on Mambo Beach which is one of the, if not THE best beach in all of Curacao. So we decided to give it a try.
The resort is TOP NOTCH. rooms are fantastic, amenities galore!
The food at Sunscape is so bad that we always ate out anyways. why pay for an all inclusive if you don't eat there?? So lions dive is cheaper and way better. Snorkeling out front is amazing,
Just Go!!
