The property is beautiful. The condos / houses are 99% top notch. The hotel is extremely nice. Starbucks and Websters restaurant on property. Beautiful ponds and inlets. Pricing accommodates from the smallest of budgets to the largest. Private pools for each compound. 5 minutes from many 5 star restaurants and shopping. Private beach for some residences / condos. If you're considering the Murrells Inlet / Litchfield / Pawleys Island area look no further. This is your destination hands down. Look no where else. Questions welcomed. Ask away.

Litchfield is not what it used to be

Litchfield is going down and very quickly. This is our fifth year staying at Litchfield Resort. But I can tell you this was the worst time ever. The unit had damage on the walls, not all lights were working, at our arrival carpets and sofa were wet, sofa was not put together, when we asked for vacuum cleaner, they brought vacuum cleaner all clogged up, there was no suction at all, got that fixed for the cleaning crew. How in the world you guys vacuuming floors? Pillows were wet for four days, carpet for three.
We could not believe that, and then we read reviews online, and now we can see that litchfield is going down in ratings in the last 6 months, it's not the same even from last year.

We stayed on Sunday thru Wednesday and I gotta say that this is the best family place to stay if you have a family especially have kids. And if you do plan to book this place , make sure you book directly thru to resort, its cheaper.

When we checked into Sandpiper A there was an old headboard and side rails, for our bed, leaning against the wall right next to the bed, making it hard to get out of bed for my husband. Our bed was also made with two flat sheets instead of a fitted sheet which caused the to keep getting bunched up. Towels were small and like sandpaper. While they had pots and pans they had no potholder, or the simplest of cooking utensils, and the place seemed only lightly cleaned. Spider webs in the windowsills and dirt in the couch cushions, not to mention the dirty old toilet brush lying on its side next to the toilet. Most of the time we dealt with any staff, they seemed like they were too busy and didn't really care. After complaining to the front desk about the issues we had they sent someone into the condo when we weren't there and were not given notice and they took headboard and shoved it behind the couch and stuffed the rails in the closet. No apologies or offers to do anything else about the issues we expressed. Would not stay here again, nor would I recommend to anyone else.

There was blood on the sheets upon check-in. When this was reported, I was advised to wash the sheets. I explained that we'd just checked in and no we weren't washing sheets. I was assured that housekeeping would change them. They just dropped off a bag of clean sheets. We had to change them. Heron Marsh 79.
Beautiful property in need of a new management philosophy.
