What People are saying

A beautiful hotel with a beautiful view, set in quiet Chinese gardens.

The hotel bedrooms and bathrooms were of a very high standard and all the staff were very attentive. Tea in the hotel gardens, at the lake edge, was a highlight of the trip and the sunset was magical. Being only a few minutes walk along the lake edge to a good selection of restaurants and bars made the quiet location of this hotel perfect for us. The small tour boats also stop very near to the hotel so a great place to explore other areas of West Lake.

An oasis right on the lake

This government run hotel is very quiet and pleasantly modern, yet stylish. The rooms are spacious, have a fridge, writing desk, a very large bathroom, windows that open. There's tea and coffee and a kettle. Beds are very comfortable.
The garden is very nicely styled, right on West Lake with wonderful views. The hotel is next to a park and within a few minutes' walk of shops and restaurants.
There's a coffee shop and a small restaurant. The indoor 20 m swimming pool is excellent (full service of towels, slippers, shampoo, water - all free)
Breakfast is a good selection of Chinese and Western food, there's a noodle station, hot and cold food
Only some of the staff (including reception) speak English and there are no brochures in English available. Still, service is very good.
There's free WiFi, though not particularly fast and with firewall limitations.
Though expensive for Chinese hotels, the situation makes it worth it

A beautiful view of the West Lake

The hotel has been upgraded and modernised. Good for visitors who are keen to stay by the Lakeside. There are nice strolls that you can take on the hotel property. The walk to the main road takes about 5 minutes and another 10 mins will bring you to eateries and shops.

The breakfast offering has limited international options but good spread of local Chinese food.

It meets the standard for a local hotel. Not all staff speaks English so some knowledge of Chinese would be useful.

Quiet location off the main road with a wonderful view

Hotel newly renovated. Rooms exceedingly spacious. Staff willing to go the extra mile. Gym was brand new; as was the swimming pool. Wifi was wonderfully strong. Only snag was that the fitness centre only opened at 9am. A little odd by international standards.
