Fantastic view but a lack of structure.
Christian Von 23/08/2016 08:04This place is a nice little farmhouse with an outstanding view over the vineyards. From the top of the hill you will be able to swim in the pool and relax while having a photographic view. However we came three persons (one couple, and a friend) we had booked 2 different rooms, but the owner had make a mistake since only one room was free. This resulted in one of us slept on a daybed in the same room as the couple the first night, which overshadowed a bit. Their food was good although the prices a bit high.
Unprofessional management of our booking
DO-LSHon 23/08/2016 08:04We've made a booking of one double room and one single room for three nights. When we showed up, the owner had (by mistake?!?!) read the booking as one room for three persons instead of two separate rooms. When we asked what she could do about it, the respond was rude: "what would you like me to do? All rooms are fully booked, but you can get the room from tomorrow". Having presented the prepaid hotel voucher, I had to suggest the full reimbursement of the missing room; the owner did not even apologize, before I mentioned that. Do we get a full reimbursement for this serious mistake? We don't know!?! I would not even characterize the third bed in the room as a bed! It was clearly placed there temporarily.
I am surprised by how unprofessional this place handles their bookings. It is the most important task for a hotel to manage their bookings.
Everyone makes mistakes, however when it happens, you should offer the guests proper compensation and at least apologize instead of expecting the customer to just accept the missing room and walk away happy.
The star presented in this review is for the beautiful view from this hotel.
gorgeous views
sparky26on 04/10/2014 18:15A lovely, homely farmhouse tucked away amongst the hills, the views from the poolside were amazing. We stayed for B&B from the 2nd-5th Sept 2014, we had mixed weather however, showers, overcast, a little sun so not the best to fully appreciate the views.
Breakfast was a help-yourself affair, with endless coffee or tea, cheese, ham, breads and jam, plus a variety of cake, fresh fruit and yogurts. We had evening meals twice, which were fine, but nothing special, the house wine was very good though. The staff were very friendly and were eager to help. The rooms were of a good size and were clean. It was a short car ride into Faenza, which is a typical small Italian town. I wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again, a short lovely stay was had.
Locanda Della Fortuna
Susan Bon 01/09/2014 16:55Lovely secluded boutique hotel up in the hills. Warm welcome, friendly service. Our rooms were large and bright with good facilities.
The swimming pool with the infinity view over the vineyards takes your breath away.
Michaela was a gem and went out of her way to provide exceptional service for us.
The food was good, but not brilliant. Wines were local and pleasant.
We would definitely return there.
Great for a relaxing holiday or day out
MissItalyon 18/06/2012 11:57Just been here this weekend with my partner and our dog. Dogs of any size are welcome which is sometimes hard to find. We were intending to spend a relaxing afternoon with a lunch in the hills, because the temperature can really rise in this time of year and the beach is no good alternative on Sundays. We got just what we wanted! The setting is amazing, beautiful view and rural and relaxing atmosphere. Not too many guests, which made it perfect to unwind on the poolside. Enough spots in the shadow and also the simple but nice lunch was served on the patio. The only little point of critique I can mention is that it is not mentioned beforehand that use of the swimming pool is 15 euro's each. This price is however more than worth it, because the service is excellent, there are enough beds available and they even provide you with towels! We will definitely be back!
