What People are saying

Great for families!

chmidoon 11/06/2017 11:18

We stayed here 2 nights with our 2 teens. The room was large and the extra single beds already set up in our room for us when we arrived. Everyone had room to spread out. Nice sized bathroom and very clean. Great breakfast and very friendly staff great location as well!! Highly recommend!

Service second to none!

Such a fantastic experience. Due to us being on our honeymoon we were upgraded to such a beautiful room. incredible view over the grand canal. Despite its very central location it is quiet and tucked away but we didn't have an issue finding it. Luka was such an amazing host. Gave us the rundown on all the best places to visit and eat. His marvellous advice never lead us astray once. Breakfast was fantastic and had a great variety. Would love to stay here again!!!

Great location, newly renovated, very friendly

We spent 3 nights (family of three) at Locanda Leon Bianco at Easter 2017 and enjoyed every minute of it.

Its newly renovated rooms reflect the charming atmosphere of Venice which we appreciated very much. We had booked a room with direct view to the Canale Grande which - in our opinion - is absolutely worth it as you become a live witness of what's happening on the canals of Venice. Our son, aged 7, was fascinated by all the boats on the canal. Although the canal is very busy, you do not hear any noise inside the room when the windows are closed. After the first night we got an upgrade to the Junior Suite, also with view to the Canal Grande. And as it was the room at the corner we even had an additional window to the small canal the gondolas took for their tours. We would like to thank the people in charge once again for this generous upgrade to the most wonderful room of Locanda Leon Bianco.

The members of staff are all very helpful and friendly. They gave us very useful advice on excursions and what to see in Venice.

The breakfast which was included in the price was very good. There was definitely something for very taste: muesli, yoghurt, ham, cheese, eggs, honey, jam, nutella, cakes, juices ... very good!

Its location is ideal for a city trip to Venice as it is just a hop away from Rialto Bridge and the Rialto Market. It is about half way between the station and San Marco. Many nice restaurants and small shops are nearby. Due to its perfect location you could come back to the room for a little rest during the day.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Leon Bianco and are looking forward to coming back soon.

Oh my...

All we will say is that we stayed in the Junior suite with Grand Canal view and it was incredible! Stunning stunning location and view. Sitting at that window in the sun (south facing) with a few drinks watching the boats and people go by... wow, these are moments to live for!! Seriously.

The staff were superb too, friendly and incredibly helpful (especially when it came to places to visit, eat, etc.)

We really couldn't fault at Locanda Leon Bianco. Worth noting though, it's more of a B&B than a hotel so no bar and no overnight staffing, but tbh that really isn't a problem here.

Another thing maybe worth noting, apparently Turner previously stayed in this room to sketch and paint! We can see why.

A hidden gem.

Lovely Hotel!

We stayed for 4 nights here and had a room off reception. The hotel could not be better located - it is so central in Venice, handy for the vaporetto, and easy to find with the directions given by the hotel. It's lovely to turn off a busy street down a non-descript lane and end up in this hotel. There are 2 flights of stairs (in an old building - so some of them are worn) but from some other reviews I assumed there would be more or that they would be steeper? I'm not that fit and I had no problem with them. Also, Luca who was on reception came out and helped us with our bags. The hotel has a homely feel to it - very welcoming. The staff were all wonderful and so helpful with advice, recommendations and reservations. The continental breakfast was huge for such a small hotel, and if something ran out it was replenished immediately. You can hear noises from the adjoining rooms BUT you are in Venice, and Venice is all about the canals, and my god - did we have a canal view! We could see part of the Rialto Bridge from our window, which was especially nice when drinking a lovely bottle of prosecco. The hotel is mid refurbishment, but our room was modern and very clean and the works did not affect us at all. All amenities you could need (there was no coffee making facilities, but I am sure reception would make you one if asked). We didn't use the minibar, but the prices seemed really reasonable. Reception was manned 0800-2000. And their recommended restaurants were fabulous. If I went back to Venice I would definitely stay here again. Also - we got a much better deal booking direct with the hotel rather than using booking.com or hotels.com
