What People are saying

Very good location

Sarah Ton 09/01/2017 23:10

Great location right over their restaurant but still pretty quiet in the best area in Rome, Trastevere. Very friendly staff & walking distance to all the cute little lanes in Trastevere & yummy restaurants. Good budget accomodation

Excellent location and very nice product

There are few, if any, better locations in Trastevere. Combine this with nice and clean rooms, friendly service and a hearty breakfast you get a product that is fantastic value for money. The restaurant is not up to the standard of all the best places in the neighbourhood, but still it's not bad.

Don't, don't, don't !!

Rooms :very small 1* quality
Bathrooms: small and shower cabin with moisture. .
Breakfast: forget it..
Cushions: old and terrible
Staff: friendly but helpless (probably because of management style)
Value for money : we paid 128.-€ ..Rip Off!!
Avoid room nr 8 !!!
TV:only local channels
If you must then ok..Better than to sleep at street. .

Do yourself a favor... book elsewhere!

This place is awful. After spending 2 weeks in Italy in nice hotels for the same price range, this was a awful way to end our honeymoon.
The one thing this place has going for it is the neighborhood - definitely recommend Trastevere, just stay elsewhere.
From the moment I checked in I should have known something was up. Who asks you to pay prior to checking in? After the girl showed us to our TINY room she disappeared. We had questions on some things and she was no where to be found.
The room itself was so small we could barely fit 2 bags in it. The bathroom had a nasty sewage smell the entire time. The air conditioner made a weird clicking noise, so we couldn't sleep with that on. Outside there were dogs barking, babies crying all night.
Whenever we couldn't find any help at the hotel (which was all the time) they could be found at their restaurant downstairs.
The free breakfast was the worst that we had in Italy as well. Literally tasted like day old bread - and the milk and yogurt was sitting out for who knows how long.
Our 2nd night (thank god there were only 2) our hot water stopped working.
We had to go down to the restaurant to get a solution, and they had the nerve to tell us that we needed to wait an hour to have someone check it out, "because the restaurant is busy right now"
WHY would we be treated 2nd class to your restaurant patrons? I said that was unacceptable.. so I made the girl come up and fix the hot water. Rather then telling me she was finished, or APOLOGIZE she slammed the door and ran back downstairs.
Save yourself the headache and find something decent in Trastevere!!

Stay in a vibrant and true Italian area

Just back from 4 nights at Locanda San Cosimato and loved every minute.
We were a little surprised that the rooms form part of a Condominium, however, soon realised that the room was small yet perfectly formed.
We soon got used to the sounds and smells from our window which overlooked the courtyard.
Ww ate at Ai Spagherri, the attached cafe and found food, prices and service excellent (must bw good as lots of Italian folk eat there too).
The rooms are well located for an easy walk into Rome to see the sights but make surw yiu take comfie shoes!
One hint - if you enjoy an early morning brew don't forget your travel kettle.
Thanks to everyone at Locanda San Cosimato for a fabulous time:-)
