What People are saying

Disappointment

Gill Don 11/09/2016 15:07

Nice hotel in good location for ironman. Bit tired and restaurant understaffed. We booked two double rooms from the uk. After a long journey, the hotel manager said we only had single occupancy not double even though I showed them a copy of our booking in which we had requested doubles and large beds etc, and they were double rooms. They insisted on charging us 40 euros for a second person in the room even though it was a double room. When I said we were quite happy to go without breakfast and breakfast was 20 euros, and could they consider a goodwill gesture the manager response to the request for a goodwill gesture was "don't stay here, go somewhere else". Very rude. I asked why the charge was double what breakfast would be and they she said the rest was to use the towels etc. Being ironman weekend getting another hotel wasnt an option. Our girl did win the iron man though so that is a bonus. Moral of the story, don't expect any "good will" from the staff in the Loev in Rugen.

If you Want a Small Amazing Hotel with 5 star Amenities and Service , This is it!!

We were stranded at the station with no taxis whatsoever for over 30 mins and called the hotel reception for help....they also tried to get us a taxi and failed and then without hesitation the head receptionist Maria got in her car and picked us up herself (for no charge). Now that's service! And it permeates throughout this lovely hotel. The rooms are spotless and newly furnished, the public areas are lovely and in general one feels at home in this very modernised establishment. The food is excellent as is the breakfast. Somewhat noisy if your room is at the front but that lasts until about midnight as the hotel is on the main pedestrian road. One major criticism which management has to address if they wish to attract at least a few foreigners: No foreign language channels on TV ...scores of German ( of course) but not one single foreign channel.

Great!

We stayed at the Loev Hotel for three days, as part of our 2 1/2 week trip to Germany. The hotel is in a great location (not far from the beach and pier) in a charming town. Our room was very comfortable and the meals were generally excellent. Given the opportunity, we would stay here again.

Great hotel in Rügen Island (Deutsche Version nachfolgend)

Location: 4.7/5.0
Hotel Loev is a perfectly located 4*- Hotel (just 2 minutes walk from the famous Binz beach), The hotel has the typical architecture of the resorts of the Baltic Sea (white wooden construction with some nice balconies and outside walls design). The hotel is located about 10 min walk from the central station (Bahnhof Binz).

Rooms: 3.2/5.0
Surprisingly very spacious for the single room I got. The rooms are modestly furnished (nothing spectacular but it was old- style with some modern equipment such as TV etc..). The elevator is very slow and dates since the 90s. Not much an important criteria but I have to mention it.

Restaurant/food: 4.2/5
The hotel has its own brasserie restaurant with wide ranges of choices. I ordered once for lunch oysters and mussels for a very reasonable price. The mussels I had were one of the best I have ever tasted!
Since I stayed there at half- board basis, breakfast and dinner were included.
Breakfast was amazing (4.5/5.0) and had basically everything one wished with some fancy items (salmon, eye with caviar etc..).
Dinner (4.0/5) was served as a three- course dinner. It was of course delicious but I found it a bit too "fat" (rice, the sauces etc.. were too much milky in my taste, a bit too much of butter maybe).

Service: 4.9/5
Excellent service! At the reception, everyone was friendly and helpful. At the brasserie, I was surprised how the waitresses are attentive. They remembered that on the first day I didn't drink any coffee (that is because my two left- side wisdom teeth were removed few days before and I didn't want to drink something really hot).. and on the next day, they brought me orange juice on the table while suggesting me to drink herbal tee to help healing faster..
What I like the most is that during breakfast, they usually ask you one you enter the brasserie what you would want to drink and they bring it immediately to your table. It was definitely a 5- star level service at the brasserie. Not one thing I would complain about.

SPA: 2.3/5.0
Underground spa is never a good thing. Small, had 2 saunas and confusing entry (many coridors and doors etc..). In the sauna, the floor was not wooden, which is not acceptable (it was tiled!)... I didn't book the hotel for the spa but for those who would want to book for spa- reasons, it might not be the best idea (again, nothing bad but there are way better spas..). There is for instance no Jacuzzi and the steam bath is only reserved for the Haman massage..

Overall I would rate the hote a 4.0/5. Only downside was the spa. Other negative points were that the dishes at the restaurant were fatty (IMO) and the rooms were not really modernized... Otherwise, everything was just perfect.
Suggestion: day trip to Königstuhl (Jasmund national parc and the 20min walk dowm from the cliff to the beach)

DEUTSCHE VERSION:

Lage: 4.7/5,0

SPA: 2,3/5,0

Brilliant

We loved this hotel. Great location, marvelous room with plenty of space and the breakfast was awesome. The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We arrived late in the morning and we were able to check in immediately. The storage for our bikes was secure. While the location was in a very busy street we experienced no noise whatsoever. Nothing beats a German self service breakfast at a class hotel such as this. Plenty of different breads to choose from and lovely smoked salmon.
The location is ideal for exploring the other parts of the island
