Motel rather than hotel

My late night arrival was a cause for some confusion... they kindly left my door card in an envelope on a windowsill outside by the locked reception doors as well as making the effort to call me to explain this. Found my room in an annex away from the main building. Couldn't lock my door, from the inside, which lead straight to the outside veranda, so had to place a chair in front of it so it might make a loud noise on the tiled floor in any case of intrusion. Very basic room. Had trouble finding a plug socket for phone charger... but did in the end. Generally clean though bathroom basin water took an age to drain because of dirty plug... unpleasant surprises down there!!! Hysterical loo sit sticker. Quite a lot can be heard from other rooms and bathrooms. Very loud aircon unit which squeaked away all night with no obvious way to turn it off. So between not being able to lock the door and the insistent squeaky aircon I didn't get much sleep.
Pretty basic breakfast (not included in price of room... and was not offered as optional extra when booking).
Fine for the purpose it served... stopover on a long journey... but not a holiday destination. So more of a motel than a hotel.

Very good stop-over hotel for the price

Booked here based on recommendations for somewhere to stay on the way back from South of France to Calais. Easy access off motorway and convenient.

We arrived around 7pm and was greeted at reception by a very pleasant English speaking receptionist who checked us in and gave us all the info we needed, including a 15% discount voucher for the BBQ restaurant next door. She said reception was open until 11pm for check-ins.

Rooms are laid out motel style; we could park close by and the car park looked secure - encouraging when the car is full of camping and personal equipment!

Room was very large and clean with bathroom and separate toilet room. Beds comfortable, no noise and black-out shutters - all you need for an overnight stop.

Our family of 3 only had on towel in the bathroom, but a quick word with the receptionist sorted that, and they were delivered to our room within minutes.

Short walk to the BBQ restaurant next door, which was really good and well priced with the 15% discount. A perfect way to end the day of 10 hours driving with no hassle.

Check-out was easy - I just left the key card on reception as nobody was there. We didn't pay or eat breakfast there.

We stayed here to break the journey from Calais heading to the South of France. Location wise it's perfect as it's just off the motorway and there's a Grill Restaurant literally next door which is open until 11pm - the reception gave us a voucher for 15% off.

The room was very clean and quiet even though it's near the motorway and there's lots of parking. Check in was straightforward although I was under the impression it's a 24/7 reception it isn't, it closed at 11pm.

The only down side was the air conditioning which was inadequate for the size of the room and meant that we spent a hot, sticky night and were un-rested when we restarted our journey at 5am.

Stayed here as it was our half way point to our holiday destination. The hotel was easy to find and the room was functional and clean. No English TV channels though and no tea and coffee tray in the room. There was a bar in the hotel reception and the buffet breakfast was really good with mainly cold options but plenty of lovely cakes to fill you up. The beds were really comfortable and there is a good restaurant next door to the hotel but locally there is a macdonalds, an Italian and burger king. Overall a great place to stay.

Great for a Stopover

We booked a triple room here as we were aiming to do our skiing roadtrip as budget as possible. So price was a big factor, as well as location. For both, it's hard to argue against the Logis, being a few miles from the autoroute and a bargain price, including breakfast. Also, with it being a few steps from the Courtepaille restaurant next door we were easily sorted for food without having to go hunting - and we were given a flyer in the hotel's reception for a 15% reduction at the Courtepaillle too.

Having said that, we would normally choose to stay in an Ibis or Novotel and have never used Logis hotels before so were a little bit nervous as to what the quality would be like. Our logic was "Hey it's only one night"... Actually we were pleasantly surprised.

Is it ultra modern? No, but it is comfortable enough and the room we had was massive, with the bonus of a separate toilet from the bathroom - always handy when a family is sharing a room!
Is it clean? Yes and the mattress on my daughter's bed looked brand new
Is it convenient? Yes, very. And, despite being right next to a dual carriageway (we thought it might be nosy) but our room facing away from the road was perfectly fine. There's lots of parking, some underground if you prefer and the walk between the car and the room isn't too far.
Was the breakfast ok?! Yes. It wasn't amazing but a plentiful, help-yourself buffet and we went of the road fully sated.
Is it good value? Yes, excellent value and that's my reason for giving it a 5 star rating. No, it's not a 5 star hotel but it exceeded expectations and we would use it again.
