Great place with a great location
Charlie Fon 18/06/2017 20:39I get amused by some of the reviews I read. Uniondale NY is not the Caribbean. What are folks looking for. We wanted a full service hotel with an amazing location. For the money, you can't go wrong. Clean rooms with super fast wifi. Terrifically friendly front desk, I mean so friendly these folks are on par with Ritz Carlton level attention. For $130 a night with AAA discount you have a great place near everything in Nassau County. 25 minutes to LGA or JFK. Near south shore and north shore. Parking lot in complete shambles due to construction and it's actually dangerous to walk through it at Kight as there is no sidewalk. Surprising they don't do something about that. But aside from that the place was top notch.

rakuon 09/06/2017 16:25I stayed at this hotel because it is close to Hofstra. I would not recommend staying here, but if you have to, it is alright.
I arrived at 5 pm and my room was not ready to check-in. However, I was told I could check in to a room that would not have hot water from 11pm to 5 am for two days. I was shocked that they would actually do this to guests and make them pay for the room. Since I needed to shower early for an early flight, I waited an hour and a half for a room with 24h water. The front desk never called me to say my room was ready. The room was fine, but rough around the edges.
If you do not have a car, the hotel location is not great. And the service and facilities do not make up for the location. Give this hotel a pass if you can.
No consistency
drtgfnzon 06/06/2017 04:40Stayed here as I attended a conference at Hofstra. Staff at front desk welcoming. Nice too and room was super clean when I arrived. Good gym although it gets stuffy if busy. Pool area looks tired. A number of areas in hotel undergoing refurbishment. Can be a line of 4-6 at Reception and takes an age. Wait staff are friendly and efficient. Super busy at breakfast. On the whole food is disappointing. Usually something on the plate was either burned, cold or over cooked. Nowhere close by to eat. Housekeeping staff friendly but twice room was not serviced. Inconsistent. Sometimes bottle of water left in room, sometimes extra soap left. Most odd. Nice lobby area for sitting with gas fire. Overall, too much inconsistency.
fantastic staff and people watching
tkap_12on 06/06/2017 00:31the hotel was average. they're trying to update it. it's next door to the Nassau coliseum which is good for most people. it's also close to museum row, but not much else is in walking distance. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. the room had everything you needed but wasn't soundproof. the bar and breakfast was overpriced, but considering it's long island and you don't really have any other options....
like i said- they are remodeling. small breakfast area at the moment. the people watching was fantastic. we saw a bunch of weddings, kids soccer and baseball, flight attendants.... the lobby had fruit infused water which changed daily.
the pool area was large, but the water wasn't super warm. the fitness area was really big. the pool area also had a ping pong table and an air hockey table.
it was a decent stay.
Great for concerts at the Nassau Coliseum

2. 1/5 for everything else - nothing else is walkable
Room:
1. Overall - 3/5 - average
2. Cleanliness - 5/5 - spotless
3. Bed - 4/5 - would have liked an extra blanket or a robe
Dining:
1. This is why I gave a '3' rather than a '4'
2. Yes, there is an extended revamp going on, but . . .
3. The dinner menu was an "abbreviated" lunch menu with less than 1/2 the selections available for lunch. So . . . disappointing . . . and the restaurant gets a '2' (Service, though, was 4.5 at both a table and the bar).
Overall:
1. Great for concerts, fine for business; but if you have kids or want a selection of dining spots, look also at alternatives.
