To give this hotel even one star is an insult.
I booked and paid for a room at the Loriet hotel in April through Expedia. A week before we are due to travel, I receive an email from Expedia saying that the hotel has overbooked and our reservation has been cancelled.
After speaking with the hotel, I am informed that "we have had a guest stay for a month who decided to extend their stay, therefore you can't stay here" *EVEN THOUGH* I had already paid for the room and had the booking confirmed.
The hotel has since tried offering me their "partner" hotel: a two star, self-catering room located 40 minutes out of town at the end of the airport runway with no swimming pool. The room price is also half the price of what I've *ALREADY* paid.
Before travelling, I had tried to continuously contact the hotel who promised me on multiple occasions that the manager will contact me. He didn't and still hasn't. I have never had an apology from this hotel. We were there then left in a situation where Expedia had to relocate us to two hotels because there was not availability at another hotel for a full week.
I am aware that there is at least one other group who have had their confirmed booking cancelled and I will be referring this case to trading standards.Fortunately, due to Expedia, we had a wonderful stay at Theofilos Paradise Boutique Hotel and Oikies Elegant Small Rooms which I would wholly recommend over this hotel any day!
DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
A place to live (I've wished forever). The people, the rooms, the view. I will defiantly recommended for all types of trips especially if someone wishes to relaxed and enjoy a "house" with history and true beauty
The main building of the hotel is beautiful and has old world charm. If you like that kind of feel, it's perfect. The hotel has also newer additions at the back which are more contemporary but I have not visited them. The location is very convenient as it is close to the airport and a short drive from the city of Mytilene. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful, all our needs were met in a very gracious way. The pool area is very pleasant and the breakfast is OK. My only negative comment is that the hotel is a little run down and is in much need of TLC.
A couple in our 60s, on booking told the accommodation is away from main building. Advised hotel pick up from the airport. On arrival no one from the hotel, therefore we were forced to make our own way. At the hotel we were led to a room via an extremely tight spiral staircase with no hand rail, when we entered the accommodation we were shocked to see mould in the bathroom, the AC could only be classed as a fan no coffee/tea facilities a phone but no phone socket to plug into, the room was dark with one small broken window that didn't open generally the room was oppressive.
We requested a move the following morning and were relocated to a first floor garden room comprising two single beds pushed together and again no phone or other facilities one bed was so close to the wardrobe that you could not get out on that side. The wardrobe was dirty with a smashed in floor.
The bathroom window was broken the bath was cracked and there was no plug in bath or sink and yet again mould in the corners. Breakfast was repetitive and carried across the courtyard exposed to flies.
Lesbos is a great place, and the Loriet looked great on paper, but sadly didn't quite live up to the standards of the rest of the island.
A friend recommended the Loriet as a good location to stay, as we'd arrived in Lesbos for her wedding. We'd booked a "poolside cottage", but 2hen we turned up, we were ushered to an attic room, with no explanation or compensation for the change. The room was clean, but the shower was small and you couldn't open the windows or control the temperature, which got very hot during the day.
Breakfast was a buffet that often ran out, so unless you showed up early, you'd miss out on eggs, sausages, yoghurt and would have to settle for bread & cake.
The pool was nice and the hotel staff helpful, but seemed poorly organised. When our group checked out, two rooms got charged twice, so would recommend anyone staying here to check their bank statements carefully.
In fact, would recommend people stay elsewhere.
