Absolutely beautiful hotel in delightful Haro
MrsH2813on 29/07/2017 18:47We stayed here en route back from Portugal, after a hard day's drive. None of us had heard of Haro before we decided to stay there (following a feature in a wine magazine), and it's a real gem. The countryside around there is a lovely change after the dry plains of Castille. Hotel Los Agustinos is an amazing building, previously a convent and military garrison, among other incarnations it's had over the centuries. Our rooms were lovely, really delightfully appointed. The central atrium/courtyard is amazing, although we did not stay for drinks or eat breakfast (expensive) there - cheaper options available in the town. My daughter managed to leave her jacket at the hotel, but they posted it back to her here in London (she paid the postage of course, but we did appreciate that they did it). A real must if you go to Haro.
A Historic Stay
ChewelahBeron 26/07/2017 20:38A classic old Spain building that is a beautiful property to stay and enjoy.
The breakfast are absolutely fabulous! It is 4-5 blocks to the town's center plaza.
Quality in every aspect. It is a chain hotel but very unique. My room was large with a lovely bathroom. I even saw a hot air balloon on my 4th morning from my 4th floor window.
Great Stay!!
MDLRFon 13/07/2017 18:17Lots of history in this former convent dating from 1373. Very close to the Muga Bodega (a 12 minute walk) with an excellent restaurant on site. The rooms are need a little work but the scenario is superb. Already planing on going back.
Lovely quiet hotel in a great town
Carolineb2736on 08/07/2017 12:12We stayed here for two nights for the batalla del vino (Rioja wine fight) festival and were really happy we chose this hotel. The hotel is in a great location - 5 mins from the main square, 10/15 mins from the wineries and 15 mins from the train station so we were able to walk to everything we did. It was also just far enough out from the main square that the all-day and night parties for the festival couldn't be heard at all. The room was comfortable and a good size. It wasn't super modern but we never expected that after seeing the pictures. We had breakfast one morning which was delicious but a little pricey. We also had dinner one night and although it's more expensive than the other tapas bars in the area it's a very different type of meal (more fancy, sit down at tables rather than eating small dishes at the bar) and well worth it. The staff were incredibly helpful when we needed to find outfits and wine for the festival and didn't bat an eyelid when we wondered home covered head to toe in wine after the wine fight! Lovely little hotel and a great place to explore Haro from.
Brilliant breakfasts
TCdopon 04/07/2017 15:44Breakfast taken in atrium. Healthy and filling breakfast. Good cappuccino. Stayed for a week. Helpful staff. They are a wedding venue and noise can carry on until midnight. Great central location. Comfortable rooms.
