Mixed feelings
Davidtempletexason 28/06/2017 15:44I only stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The location is excellent. Very close to the town square, clubs, and historic buildings. There are two young ladies who work the front desk during the day. Both were wonderful and helpful . Wish I'd gotten their names. Service was great, coffee and tea Is always available.
The hotel itself is cool. I like the design and decor. My room, 205 smelled bad though. The whole time I was there it had a horrible odor like a sewage leak. My only other complaint is the night clerk. The hotel entry is locked at night, which is great. The clerk however, sleeps behind the reception desk and doesn't wake up when you ring the bell. One night I rang it over and over before another guest woke him to hit the electronic door switch to let me in. If I was going to Cusco again, I might stay there, but only if I couldn't find something similar for the price. I'd like to have given a better review because every other employee was super friendly and I really liked the hotel itself. Just not the night clerk or room 205.
Nice all around
jjfad2017on 27/06/2017 16:51This is a nice, quiet place that is in a great location just a few blocks off the central plaza. There's a decent breakfast buffet in the morning, the bed was comfortable, and all around this was a quality establishment. Definitely recommended.
very pleasant stay
lbakerasaon 26/06/2017 18:12The rooms are not large but are very clean and comfortable. We arrived as a group from the Inca Trail and everyone showered at once resulting in low water pressure and limited hot water for a short period of time.
The staff is vey warm and accommodating. the breakfast provided was more than adequate.
Great location, comfortable stay, good breakfast!
Naomi Eon 24/06/2017 16:16Stayed here for 3 nights. Good communication prior to arrival to coordinate a pick-up in Ollantaytambo (at train station coming from Machu Picchu). Arrived late in the evening and check-in was smooth (had prepaid reservation online). Front desk staff speak excellent English and were able to arrange a city tour for the next day.
The location is great. Very close to the San Blas neighborhood. Lots of small restaurants along the street and about 10 minutes from the main square. You have to climb up about 10-12 stairs to get to the hotel entrance. The entrance to the hotel is secured and locked 24/7.
I stayed in room 104, which is located next to the check-in desk. I never heard a sound. There was a window that opened, but it opened on the street and people could see into room and I never felt really safe leaving that open (even though there were bars on window). But it is an option if you want fresh air.
The room was decorated nicely. Bed was comfortable with some feather pillows and non-feather pillows. Plugs next to the bed for my phone. Flat screen TV with English CNN. Lots of channels, but most were dubbed Spanish. Separate toilet area was comfortable. Sink area was large (ask for hair dryer at front desk). Shower looked like it was a former closet, but it was spacious. Hot water comes out quickly, but to be hot enough for me I couldn't turn on any cold water. Water pressure was so-so. But hot water stayed hot the entire shower. Amenities provided included: bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. Towels were soft and large.
Lots of room to store clothes and hang any clothing you may wash in the room (lots of laundry places right around hotel though, but I only needed 1 day of clothing cleaned).
Wifi was OK. I was able to Facetime at certain times of the day and could do simply things like surfing and sending/receiving emails.
Hotel provides free transport to/from airport which is about 10-15 minutes away. Had a hiccup where the driver asked me for money. I told him to call. Had to stand on street for 5 minutes, but it worked out. Make sure to verify with hotel before leaving to avoid this (I had google translate on phone, since drivers don't really speak English).
Overall, I had a good stay and I would return.
Convenient and lovely hotel
Richard Jon 24/06/2017 05:28Very close to the main square yet inexpensive, we were greeted by the reception and taken to the room where the central heating was turned on and other information given. Breakfast was very good and throughout our stay hotel staff was very polite and helpful.
There are several restaurants close by, one that made Mexican food as well as others.
The old colonial style was enhanced by paintings in the bedroom and a cozy feeling. Toilet and shower in separate rooms so very convenient for two people. Shampoo and conditioner as well as soap available.
Highly recommended.
