Good place to stay

The hotel is located on the south side of the island and that's where most of the tourists spots and dive centers are,
The rooms are clean and good for the price, they have nice swimming pool /friendly staff and spa as well
The break fast is a good open buffet but not a lot of choices
Also they have water sports shop and rentals as well.

Backpacker room

I had a backpacker style room in the back over the dive shop. A lot of construction going on and no view from my room. The room was old and worn out. Very dirty. It did have airconditioning and a TV with 3 stations. Only one in english. Basically a waste of a TV. The price jumps from 1800 peso to 2500 for airconditioning. Normally I'm good with a fan, but it was May the hottest month in the PI. They have a huge pool and massage parlor overlooking the pool. They have nice suites, but there are much better backpacker budget rooms on the island. I walked in on a busy weekend so stayed until monday when I got a super nice room elsewhere for the same price 2500 pesos. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was less than average as free breakfasts go. It did not inspire me to eat other meals there. There are a few really good restaurants around. They advertise free WiFi, but I could never get on. I needed to book ahead for my vacation and travel, so I changed hotels so I could get an internet connection.

The place is really very nice located at the beach front plus a huge swimming pool that you can use when low tide. We stayed there for 5 days, buffet breakfast is served every morning. The bad thing is that the food look the same every morning. The staff is not so accommodating and lacks training.

from cebu north bus terminal we rode a bus going to maya for 200 php regular rate and 160 for students or senior citizens. if u wanna stay there for a day you have to ride a bus 12 midnight thus it will take 4 hours to reach maya. upon reaching the port you ride a boat for 100 php but if it is low tide you have to ride a flatboat first for 20php before riding on a boat going to malapascua island. since one of my friends has relatives in there we were not able to book a hotel! hotels in there a fairly cheap if u wont stay near the beach.. rates start from 400 php.
around 9 am we were invited to go to kalanggaman island( discussed later on another review :) )
people in there are very hospitable and they seem to care much about the tourists! as they say it is actually a mini boracay island :)

In general I could consider the staff very unaccomadating. I paid for extra guests, and when I asked for a second bed they acted like I didn't pay. Ultimately I had to tell them to either remove the extra guest fee or put an extra bed in the room.

Pros:
Good Air-Con
Large Pool
Free Breakfast was Ok
Beds were good.
Shower and amenities were fair

Cons:
Terrible staff
